"Had a terrible experience while dining in for lunch with my autistic son. He was discriminated against for being autistic by Julio an employee. My son was not disrupting anyone he simply was highly stimulated and that seemed to bothered Julio who brought it to my attention. I was in complete shock that he stated my son was a danger to customers passing by or dining at restaurant. Only a person with complete ignorance could say such a thing. I asked to speak to Manager Carlos but he was not at restaurant. However , later on this evening I was able to speak to him and explained our traumatizing experience. I asked that changes be made and all staff be educated on how to treat All Customers with respect and equality. Truly hope this brings awareness to others when dining at this restaurant. I truly hoped at the moment this occured I could have built the courage to stand up to this individual and advocate on my behalf of my son but I was so upset I couldn't find the words at that moment nor did I want to cause a scene with 2 other families dining in. The manager did state I could call if I visited again for lunch. However , no lunch could ever make me forget the discrimination we faced. I only hope this post brings change to staff and awareness to anyone reading this."

"I love this place!!! I normally dont repeat restaurants when I go out to eat, but now I dont want to eat anywhere else! Food so fresh and caringly prepared! And service is fantastic! Our waitress Emily was so so nice and ended up chatting with us, remembers her customers and really goes the extra mile. I am not in any way affiliated with the place...I just love it. The atmosphere is great too...feels like you are stepping back in time, to another place or maybe into a novel set in Anywhere, USA. Its a small diner, but that just adds to the charm. Vegetarian options: I always get the vegetarian omelet and the spinach, mushrooms, etc are so very fresh and cooked to perfection! Kid-friendliness: Came here with 6 year old and the waitress Emily chatted with her, made her feel welcome, and served her a great looking sundae after the meal."

"A great place with a winning menu. Family friendly and super tasty food with large portions. I recommend that you try the specials that include fries and drink. We had the 2 hot dogs and the Italian beef. Somehow it was too much good food. But yet we took a homemade meatball and a skirt steak sandwich to go. This is one of those rare finds that is tasty, bountiful, quick and family friendly. Also very clean and attentive staff. You can hear them all working on your orders as they are being called out. I will definitely be back whenever I am in this part of North Chicago."

"I was on a business trip with my brother and we were unsure of what to have for dinner. We came across this restaurant online and decided to give it a try after reading some good reviews. We ended up ordering a pizza for takeout, but were surprised to find out that they only accepted cash. After managing to scrape together enough money, we took the pizza back to our hotel. Let me tell you, that pizza was possibly the best I have ever had. There was something about the crust that was unique in taste or texture. It was absolutely delicious, and my brother and I both agreed. We devoured the entire extra large pizza in one sitting. I can't wait to visit this place again in the future for more of this heavenly pie."

"The experience was fantastic! We tried a black bean burger, a cheeseburger, and a Big Bird bacon cheeseburger, all of which were delicious. We also ordered regular fries and Cajun fries, with the Cajun fries having just the right amount of spice."
