"I ordered through Seamless at 11:55 AM, expecting my food to arrive by 12:40 PM. When it didn’t arrive, I called the restaurant, and they still hadn’t even left by 12:56 PM. The restaurant falsely claimed that my order was received at 12:20 PM, and they said it would be on its way by 1:00 PM. After calling again, they told me, "I told you to cancel," at 1:20 PM. My order finally arrived after two hours. To be clear, I’m not complaining about the quality of the food; it’s just that the customer service here is unacceptable. This restaurant actually suggests that you cancel your order when you call to inquire about the delivery time if it’s taking too long. If you’re considering ordering from here, please read this review carefully and adjust your expectations accordingly."

"I typically don't write reviews on Yelp, but I felt the need to share my experience this time. I ordered from this conveyor belt sushi restaurant via UberEats, not expecting much. To my surprise, the raw dishes were incredibly fresh and delicious. The rolls were a generous size for the price, and their calamari was absolutely PERFECT! It may not be overly fancy, but I can definitely see it becoming my go-to spot for casual sushi. I'm really impressed and would love to dine there in person. Here's what I ordered: spider roll, Seattle roll (buy one get one free), eel nigiri, salmon sashimi, surf clam sashimi, and calamari."

"This restaurant is a true hidden gem. The staff is friendly, genuine, and down-to-earth. If you treat them well, they'll take care of you in return. The food is exceptional, and the atmosphere by the lake is simply lovely. I highly recommend trying the baked salmon roll—it’s definitely worth it!"

"Oh my gosh, if you are looking for good Japanese cuisine... this is it! Amazing selection! Very good serving staff. We had a group of 6, and they were able to seasily accommodate us. Our server was very patient with us as we were catching up with friends, so it took us longer to order. They allowed us to take our time. The food came out in a good time. On top of all of this, they had free parking in the back. We were not disappointed at all!"

"We gave this place a try and we did not regret it. All the other sushi restaurants in Williamsburgs are either hard to reserve, very expensive, require 50-75 no show fee deposit or closed on Mondays. We reserved for 7:30pm on a Monday night and upon arriving there were plenty of seats. The host asked us if we would like to sit in the back outdoor area and we said yes. It is beautifully decorated in the back, with lights, a mural, but you will be hearing the zapping of mosquitos and getting a few bites! We ordered a tray of sushi to share, some speciality rolls, an udon dish, gyu-don rice dish, and purple yam fried and karage. The appetizers came promptly and they were so good, the chicken was hot and fresh and came with sauce and a dipping salt. The purple yam fries were very interesting and I think it came with a matcha sauce. These two appetizers are really good and a must try. The sushi came and it was the typical rolls, not the best sushi quality but that is okay because it was still good and presentable, and this isn’t a type of restaurant. The udon was good and so was the gyu-don beef over rice. We also ordered beers and cocktails which were good. Our party enjoyed our time here, it was quiet, soft, ambient, the food was good, and it is a great place to catch up with friends over a meal."

"Ordnete Tempura dish for 19.95. What I got was a large bowl of dried rice with a few pieces of hard, fried vegetables and a small shrimp that obviously sat under a heat lamp. I couldn't finish it because it was just inconspicuous and chew. I politely asked the server who I could say was a young person, maybe a high student when that was normal. I saw how the server went to manager/owner/pick and asked them. The manager/owner/images, who sorted silverware, did not even look at the server and without a word the index finger, indicating that only 1 piece of shrimp were normal. It was quite unprofessional and even I felt bad for our server. Apart from the poor quality of food, high prices, this simple and short interaction I experienced, talked a lot about this place. You lost a customer in me."

"The last time I came here with my family was before the pandemic. This was one of our go-to sushi places and the food was very good then. Fast forward to now... I 'm not really sure what happened to Shoboo, but there 's so many areas that need a lot of improvement. The servers were friendly, but I felt that they were super disorganized. They were mixing up our orders (though to be fair, we were a large party split into two tables . However, the server could not even identify which sushi was which, and we got very confused in the end. The server even said that apparently the sushi chef likes to mix things up by making the sushi rolls look different, which made us even more confused. They told us that they were behind on orders in the kitchen (most likely from their online orders . We asked for 4 orders of takoyaki--two came before the sushi and the other two came right after we finished all the sushi. It was very disorganized and slow. They had a lot of servers, but they were basically just standing their waiting for their chefs to finish the food. I honestly felt bad for the servers, but at the same time, they should really study their menu. The food here was okay during our recent visit, but most of the rolls were doused in sauce. The fish did not seem that fresh. Overall, a disappointing visit. I hope that Shoboo sees all the feedback here (lots of one-stars from the recent reviews! and fix what needs to be fixed."

"We had a disappointing experience during dinner. There was a failure to communicate our request for gluten-free options throughout the meal. Additionally, both soup and water were accidentally spilled on us and our phones, and we got splattered with oil while our food was being prepared. We only received water refills twice during our visit. Given that we spent over $300, the overall experience did not justify the cost, and we won’t be returning. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so the lack of attentive service was unexpected."

"If you're looking for a genuinely memorable sushi experience in San Francisco, look no further than Hakashi. Chef Julio Zapata is a master of his craft, and his sushi is some of the best I've ever had. Sit at the bar even if you have to wait, and let Chef Zapata surprise you. Everything about Hakashi is true to traditional Japanese sushi. The fish is fresh and flown in from Japan. The rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned with just the right amount of vinegar. And the sushi chefs are highly skilled and take great care in preparing each piece of sushi. I’m looking forward to returning to SF only to dine at Hakashi again. Congratulations to Chef Zapata and his staff."

"There I was searching for food for my hungry girlfriend. As she kept reminding me she wanted Korean bbq I was secretly craving for sushi and I told her that anything was fine. LORD AND BEHOLD they serve both sushi and korean bbq! I literally enjoyed my food with a thousand miles playing in the background. I will forever be a loyal customer because of how amazing everything was.Service was amazing and the food was made with the chefs love. I will never forget my experience and will come here for the food and the people."

"I had a wonderful sushi experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and it's a great spot for a date. The servers were friendly and attentive, which added to the overall enjoyment. Considering the quality and value, I would rate this place as a five-star sushi destination. The sushi prices are quite reasonable for the quality offered. While the plain eel cuts didn’t impress me, everything else was definitely worthwhile. The atmosphere was lovely, with a nice aesthetic that made it easy to have a conversation. I can definitely see myself bringing a date here or treating family and friends."

"I absolutely adore this place. It is my family's favorite sushi restaurant in Concord, and when my dad's birthday rolled around, we knew we had to come here. It's usually not too crowded, and the staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. They have a fantastic selection of sake, and the fish is always fresh and expertly prepared. Not to mention, the hot menu items, from appetizers to main courses, are delicious. My brother always orders karaage, while my dad loves the gyu-kaku and chicken teriyaki. Additionally, they always have great deals and specials. The interior is cozy with tasteful decor that isn't overwhelming. Hanabi is a beloved spot for my family."

"So we make a reservation for at around which was available on the open table app. I got the confirmation and headed over. When I arrived, the hostess said that they don’t honor reservations made less than hours before arriving... ok???! I kind of put up a fight and they reluctantly sat us down. They give us the menu and leave us alone for around minutes. We picked out what we wanted to eat only for the first waiter to show up and say “we can’t serve any food from the grill because it’s too busy and the kitchen is backed up. It will have to be sushi only”. I was shocked and if that was the case, why didn’t they tell me from when I showed up? I would’ve left and gone elsewhere as I had my year old who definitely doesn’t want sushi. They allowed me to order some fried rice with the food so when that showed up I let my kid have it. We ate some of the food that showed up but AN HOUR later, our appetizer, the kids meal, and one entry still hadn’t shown up. I told the next waiter to just forget it , please give us our bill so we could leave. It truly was a terrible experience"

"Oh my goodness, this restaurant has my heart, I truly wish we lived closer as we would come all the time! During a big rain storm had I brought my mom to lunch after a medical appointment and she is quite slow moving. As we arrived into the restaurant her socks and shoes became soaked. The incredibly kind owner noticed and asked if they could give her a pair of brand new, packaged socks before we had even ordered! It was just the sweetest, most tender gesture, I could have cried! Our visit just got more wonderful after that as the food was so delicious and the service was perfection. What absolutely lovely people who run this yummy restaurant! Thank you Kawaii Sushi!"

"We met with friends at this place for lunch. my friend recommended this place. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt very good. The food was just great. We loved this spot a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommended."
"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"Food is excellent. Sushi chef prepared it nicely as we happen to be the last customers of the night. They close at 10pm, and in Chinatown area...this happens to be the only one open late on a Tuesday evening. It was our last night in San Francisco and decided to hit up Chinatown. The place inside looked decent. Location is accessible anywhere. Towards the end of my dinner, possibly 30minutes before closing, I was rushed by the waiter to hurry up because they were closing. Mind you, my sashimi was delicious and it comes with heavy sticky white rice meaning, I can't just shove it down my throat without choking. Yet, I had to do it. I wanted to be offended, instead I knew they had a long night and wanted to go home. Plus, it was a cultural thing so I get it. But...damn. Hold on. Lemme enjoy this meal, bro."

"To be fair, the employees are all super nice and the place looks very nice. Which is why I am giving them 3 stars. However, we ordered 6 rolls with the recommendation of the waiter, and unfortunately, to me, they weren’t real « sushi »They were very big and filling, but it is more of an Americanized sushi style than traditional to me.The Tuna fish was grounded somehow like a paste and was spread on top of one of the roll, and the other rolls were supposed to have real fish slices, but except for the salmon part on top, the rest was like grounded fake crab meat, more grounded fish, and tons of mayonnaise… and their special sauce was very odd to pair with the fish…Sadly for my vegan/vegetarian friends, there are only two rolls options and they are small and fairly okay, but nothing to get really excited about. In all fairness, for people who enjoy California rolls, you should still give it a try because you get a wide variety of grounded fish/crab sushi for a good price! But for the people that are looking for more traditional sushi… it’s another story ?"
