"The food was disappointing when dining in, and the service was lackluster as well. In every instance, the food was cold—not just at room temperature, but genuinely cold. During my most recent order, they stated it would be ready in 10 minutes, which was concerning enough, but I arrived in just 5 minutes to find my food already packaged. This suggests that they prepare large quantities in advance and simply microwave orders when they come in. The burnt cheese and sauce on the takeout containers support this theory.
Considering it was dinnertime, everything we ordered tasted like it had been sitting around for 2 or 3 days and was only reheated just enough for the cheese to melt. Even if it hadn't been old, the flavor was the worst Mexican food I've ever encountered. We quickly remembered why we had vowed never to eat there again. They slather everything in excessive amounts of cold sauce, perhaps to mask the stale odors from the meat and vegetables.
I’ve visited my fair share of mediocre restaurants, chalking the experience up to personal taste, but El Pueblito seems to make a concerted effort to deliver a poor experience. Save your money. Dining in doesn't provide a better experience, and the staff appears disinterested, making it clear they don’t care whether you notice."
