"I visited today and inquired whether they use a separate grill for their vegan items, similar to some other bodegas nearby that promote vegan options. Unfortunately, I was informed, albeit apologetically, that they do not; the Plantega products are grilled on the same surface as the meat. While I understand the deli's size constraints, I personally don't feel comfortable eating items cooked on a meat-filled grill, so I chose not to order anything. If you're in the area and looking for vegan options, there's a Le Pain Quotidien down the street and a Joe and the Juice next door. If you don’t mind that the Plantega items share a grill with meat, you might want to give this place a try. Alternatively, if they decide to implement a separate grill for their vegan offerings in the future, please share your experience in your review. Overall, I appreciate the intention behind their offerings, but unfortunately, the cooking method doesn’t align with my preferences."

I had a great experience with fast service and a delicious burrito at Plantega during my visit to New York. The prices are very reasonable too. It's truly an amazing place!

The restaurant doesn't have a separate grill for their vegan sandwiches, and the entire deli had a strong, unpleasant odor, reminiscent of spoiled meat. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

They Lied it says it's Vegan Restaurant on Google But it's Deadly Meatie Restaurant, i drove 30 minutes to place on Hungry stomach and when i get there it's nothing like Google says. The food was freshly made and there wasn’t a long wait but I believe it’s cooked on the same grill as the rest of their non vegetarian offerings. The signage on the outside for Plantega isn’t on the awning; it’s standing on the ground so if you don’t pay attention, you’ll walk right by and miss it. I will go back again and try something else. Just like the “real” sausage, egg and cheese I forgot to ask and missed the added taste of salt and pepper!
