"Great Food. The best Jamaican food around. The food is delicious. I am a pescatarian and they have great options for 'pescas ' and 'carnis ' (carnivores alike. Expect to receive generous amounts of whatever it is that you order. The ambiance of the restaurant is calm and laid back. You can sit inside or outside. On the other side of the outdoor patio, the owners also have a quaint cafe where you can order breakfast and delicious smoothies. Great place to eat.<br/ <br/ And a note about the comment below <br/ Some people are incredibly negative and in general, hard to please. If you are a reader of these reviews, who is on the fence about whether to try out Ackee Bamboo, I leave you with two things:<br/ 1. You never know until you try (for yourself <br/ 2. 88% rating (which will soon be higher after you try it for yourself and come back to this site to leave your rating : <br/ <br/ To balance it out, I think their veggie patties could be tastier but all in all, I love their food!<br/ <br/ P.S. I really love this restaurant! It's in a great location, the food is delicious, and I enjoy the music. It would be wonderful if the staff at the counter could smile a bit more and be a little friendlier, but I get it. I've never really met a particularly cheerful cashier at a Jamaican restaurant, haha!

I took my Jamaican friend to this restaurant for her birthday, and the food was amazing—similar to what my roommate cooks! It was my first time there, and I drove an hour and 45 minutes from out of town, but it was definitely worth it. The service was excellent, and the flavors of the oxtail, callaloo with plantains, festival bread, and rice and beans were spot on! The portions were generous, just as you'd hope for a large serving. I tried a guava and pineapple drink that was so delicious, I wish I had ordered two! The place was lively even on a Thursday at 2 PM. Since I can't find this type of food where I live, I also got some jerk chicken to take home, and it was just as tasty!
