Aji Sushi Hibachi Grill

Among all the restaurants I've visited, this one stands out as the best experience I've had. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is outstanding. They truly appreciate their customers. I would highly recommend it to friends and family, and I will definitely be coming back.

I reserved a hibachi table for 14 at 7 PM on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday. There's something for everyone on the menu, even for those with selective taste. The food and hibachi show were fantastic, and they even surprised me with a complimentary ice cream for my birthday. I ordered sushi, and it was all delicious. I will definitely return!

The restaurant is called Ichiban (Gonzales), and I've visited it numerous times. Each experience has been quick and exactly what I ordered. The staff is friendly and attentive. I absolutely adore this restaurant! After visiting many hibachi places, I can confidently say that this one has the best sushi and hibachi I've ever had. The steak and scallops I ordered were incredible and cooked to perfection on the grill. I highly recommend this place! They've made some changes, and the atmosphere is very inviting! I wish I could give it a perfect 10 stars! As for kid-friendliness, kids eat free on Wednesdays, which is fantastic, and they receive a generous amount of food!

The food is decent, and our waiter was helpful. However, this restaurant is considerably more expensive than its competitors. The service is slow; it takes a long time for the food to arrive. Although they offer all-you-can-eat sushi, there are limits on what you can order, and the lengthy wait can leave you feeling bored, hungry, and frustrated. Additionally, the bathroom door resembles a kitchen door, and the women's restroom was lacking soap and had a clogged sink. Overall, I was disappointed.

I want to start by mentioning that we visited on homecoming night, so we expected the restaurant to be busy. We called ahead to check the wait time since we had four children under the age of four with us. They assured us there would be no wait, which was surprising given the occasion, but we took their word for it. We were seated at the hibachi grill at 7:30, only to find out at 8:00 that there was no available cook until 8:45. Our server then expressed her dislike for her job and walked away. Absolutely NOT a 4.1 restaurant! One of the poorest all round restaurant experiences I have had in the 16 years I have lived in Baton Rouge. There where four people in the restaurant when we got there at 6:15 on Sunday night. We didn’t get our food until 7.30. Fried rice and four sushi rolls!! Our server spent most of her time hanging out in the parking lot instead of keeping us updated on our order. Terrible service, our fried rice was delivered at best room temp, close to cold. Toxic manager will force this location to close. After waiting 45 minutes for half of our order after the first half was set on the table, the manager was unwilling to negotiate to a fair discount on the ticket. Despite it not being about the money, her customer service skills were the poorest I’ve seen in any establishment. I was polite and calm, so it was not personal. Her name is Ms. Edwards for any reference, and surprisingly she stated that they cannot please every customer.
