The restaurant should definitely have price tags on their items. I purchased a small bag of sesame snacks and was shocked to find that I was charged $16 for it. I'm baffled as to why it was so expensive. View menu

Banh mi for $5. Cash only. They make the sandwiches in front of you. I recommend #1 the cold cuts. I also tried #2 BBQ pork, but it wasn't that good. It was a peppery flavor. This banh mi place is inside the Hong Kong Market, so it's a bit of a walk from the entrance.

Absolutely delicious, I always have to get me this when I visit Houston grab a bunch to take home too hehe. Price is still affordable and sandwiches are still stuffed after inflation so I very much appreciate that! Must try! 10/10 recommend their pate butter mayo is bomb!

When we crave an expensive combination banh mi, we always head to Alpha. They have been around for years and have recently expanded their place to include a dining area. I have to say that their French bread is the best in town.. but for $2 each! Still worth it when we make bo kho though. View menu

The bakery doesn't display prices for their baked goods and charges whatever they choose at the time. We bought some Vietnamese street food that should normally cost around $10 at another bakery, but here it was $18. I'm surprised by the high price, especially since the quality is just average.

The prices here are absurd; a cup of "Vietnamese yogurt" costs $4.00 and they only accept cash. The duck leg in my vịt tiềm was so tough that it was inedible. There are no price tags on anything, and I genuinely believe they charge more if you don’t look or speak Vietnamese. I would recommend staying away from this deceptive establishment.

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
