Amato’s Cheese Steaks

I enjoy their food very much. I have never had a negative experience with the staff or a sandwich. They always strive to make their customers happy.

Very tender steak and very delicious onion rings with dip WOW!!! I got sausage sand and stk, mush, onion, and bell pep sand aka the works with no cheese.

Finding a decent spot for a hoagie in the Bay Area is nearly impossible. However, this place is quite good and satisfies my cravings until my next trip to Philadelphia. View menu

I had a fantastic meal a few months ago, and I just picked up a number 10 today, which was just as good as my first experience. Thank you for maintaining such high standards of deliciousness! My family, friends, and I will definitely return soon.

I absolutely adore Amato's chicken cheesesteak sandwich! It's always loaded with plenty of toppings and extra cheese that I personally add. This is hands down the best cheesesteak restaurant in San Jose! I highly recommend trying this delicious restaurant!

The pictures dont do this place justice. Their Cheese Steak Sandwich (Shorty 7" is super meaty and cheesy. The flavor is wonderful. The beef sandwich is what I would expect back east. People can make liking or disliking these type of sandwiches their primary personality trait, if that is you do everyone a favor and move back east, otherwise this shop is worth checking out. I find it best to go with someone, or a group and share. The sandwiches and sides are on the large size.

I often go to san jose because I have family there and every time I go to san jose, I try to visit amatos käsesteaks. I felt guilty first. I felt like I'd go against my philadelphia friends. but amato will put a cheese steak equal if not better than many places that have big cheese steaks. if they want a normal cheese steak, they must order the shorty. the half is about 12 inches long and the full size. Yes, it's like 2 meters long! one of my sons will insist that I return and amatos käsesteak to Texas when he hears that I go. Look, it is in a strip-mall, the atmosphere is nothing to write home, but eating is amazing!

I wasn 't paying attention the first time I walked in, I was thinking it was a pizza place. 'Nope ', the guy behind the counter said, adding, 'we make the best cheese steak sandwiches '. I lived in Philly for a few years, and I know my way around a good steak sandwich, so I said, 'Sure, 'one, whiz, with ' '. I got a funny look, and then the guy handed me a menu. OK, I thought to myself, I 'm in Northern California after all, and I can 't expect them to know what that means.
