"One if not THE BEST meals my wife and I have had. Everything was PERFECT! Simply WONDERFUL!I am local to the Inlet and I pass this place everyday and never stopped but I had a taste for steak AND seafood tonight and when I Googled The BEST STEAK near me this place showed up so I quickly glanced at the reviews and pictures of the food and the wife and I headed out for a early evening dinner.I ordered Oysters Rockefeller as a starter as I have been on a kick lately as if I see Oysters Rock on a menu I always order it but seriously, this by far was the BEST Oysters Rockefeller I have ever had in my life! I can 't put in words just how good this was but now as I type this review I 'm thinking I may just order a to-go tomorrow as I 'm craving more, these were simply fantastic and a very special dish.Looking at the menu my wife and I could not decide between the Ribeye or the filet so we agreed to order both and split them, what a wonderful idea as I can 't say what one was best and both steaks were incredible! My wife and I both agree these steaks were fantastic and perhaps the BEST STEAK WE HAVE HAD! Both were cooked to perfection and the seasoned butter on one and the cream sauce on the other put this meal over the top...Then we get to the people working this fine place...All of my family including my wife and children all work locally in the Restaurant industry as living in a Greater Myrtle Beach Grand Strand resort area with over 2,400 restaurants its simply what one must do...We know the good, the bad and the ugly of the restaurant business so with that in mind, we can say this staff was over the top wonderful!It all started with our super nice and kind hostess greeter, she was such a nice lady and she kept dropping over just to check on us, very nice lady! then our server... She was so pleasant and professional and did a wonderful job taking great care of us tonight. Then I assume the manager worked the tables and room with a smile and was so nice checking on use and that we were happy but when you get great service and one if not the best meals of your life, how can you not be happy?I found this location nice! We had a great view of the inlet with a choice to sit inside or out but we sat in a booth with a large picture window on a beautiful late afternoon enjoying this special Inlet that I am so Blessed to live in and be a part of.For some reason the outside of this building has been easy for me to pass buy and not stop, perhaps the bland grey paint? the name ? I dont know, but once inside I found this place was very clean, nice view, simply had a good feel and vibe about the place! Bottom line I was able to relax, I was very comfortable and was able to have one if not the best meal experiences of my life!We arrived early on a Friday night and had no wait time and our food was served fast, food was hot, well plated and all the staff had a smile!My compliments to the entire staff at American Steak and Oyster Bar from the front of house to the back as I can tell everyone is striving to accomplish exactly what we received tonight...A perfect meal and a perfect experience!We will be back..."

Food was amazing, service was good and it was very peaceful. Modern Industrial decor with a beautiful water view but away from all the noise and crowds of the Marshwalk. Definitely going back and booking for a few groups. Steve the bartender and Abby our waitress were great!Food: 5/5

Came in on a Saturday night with my date and barely anyone in there. Server forgot to ring in our app and we were glad at the end she forgot because our dinner was horrible. My crab cake was charred black on the bottom. My date asked for butter for his shrimp and it was grease from a pan or frier brought to our table.Food: 1/5

This restaurant has excellent food and service. We always bring our out-of-town guests here and have never been disappointed. The steaks and ribs are phenomenal. I hope more people will give it a second chance now that it is under new ownership. It truly is one of the most underrated places in the area! Food is rated 5 out of 5.

This place is not only GORGEOUS, but you will experience customer service you never had. I booked a reservation of 7 SO LAST MINUTE and still they took us in. The food I can’t even put into words how PHENOMENAL it was. So much quality and value. Please visit this place if you are in town. You WILL NOT regret it. Hope to come back this week. View menu

I love American Steak and Oyster Bar. The night I went they had $1, Oysters on the half shell, which were amazing!!!!I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The bartender, Steve, is very knowledgeable, and willing to make martinis and margaritas to your request.Pat, the manager was so nice and genuine.I would recommend American steak and oyster bar to all of my family and friends.

I really liked the ambiance of this restaurant. The service was excellent. In my opinion, the steak would have been even better with some butter and garlic. The sides were delicious. Although our daughter's chicken tenders were overcooked for her taste, they made it right by remaking them and not charging us for them. If we are in the area again, we will definitely visit this restaurant. Food: 4/5

We simply cannot say enough good things about our experience at this restaurant in Murrells Inlet, SC!The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We arrived shortly before closing and the staff treated us as if we had arrived at opening time. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The new owners have created a smaller, more focused menu, which indicates that the chef takes great pride in every dish. My family and I dined here last week and we will definitely be returning. The new owner Bob and his staff, especially Abi, provided excellent service. Bob even came out to personally check on us and ensure we were satisfied. I recommend giving this place another chance if you dined here before March of this year. Our meal was outstanding, especially the fried mozzarella which was cooked in a unique and delicious way.

We’re so happy we stumbled onto American Steak and Oyster Bar. We originally were looking for a place in the very popular and busy area. It was way too crowded for us, so we started driving north. Less then a mile north, we saw American a Steak and Oyster Bar and it appeared to be less intense and hectic. They saved our evening. The service was awesome. Our server was all smiles and handled everything for us. We had a couple special requests and they got every one of them right. The food was great too.
