"It pains me to write this review, having been a regular customer to now only ordering on occasion.First, let me start by saying Francesco’s has the BEST Italian food around.. no one can beat their chicken/eggplant/veal parm. However, I do NOT recommend this restaurant for takeout.Take out service has severely gone downhill (missing food, inconsistent pricing, and lack of menu knowledge when ordering). I understand mistakes happen, but there is a problem when issues take place with every order. This is a large part of the reason why we do not order here as nearly as often as we used to (in addition to the restaurant now choosing to close on Sundays).All in all, if you’re going to eat here, the food will not disappoint, but be sure to double check your bag/box before leaving."

With meal prices ranging from $20 to $30 per person, this restaurant offers excellent value for such high-quality food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience!"

"I haven't gone since Covid but before that we have gone quite a bit. We live in town so pretty much tried everything around. Athens ranks somewhere in the middle for pizza and grinders. We typically go elsewhere for pizza but do pick up grinders from them occasionally. I don't want this to come off too negatively as nothing is horrible about it. I just wouldn't tell anyone they have to go there and if a friend was in the neighborhood I could think of a bunch of places to go instead. The owner is a solid community guy giving money for many things over the years. He may be burned out a bit. Tip: if you like hamburg on your pizza don't order that here. It is oddly shredded and tastes nothing like actual hamburger."

"The menu mainly features fish and seafood, along with a hot dog and a burger for variety. We ordered the Fisherman's Platter, fish and chips, clam chowder, and clam fritters. The platter was more than enough for two people to share. Everything is hand-breaded to order, and the breading was fresh and delicious. You can also choose the size of the onion rings, which were perfectly crisp and flavorful. The scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection—tender and not at all rubbery. The battered fish was deeply fried to perfection, featuring tasty fish and a well-seasoned batter. The clam chowder was delicious as well, but a heads up for non-meat eaters: it starts with onions cooked in bacon fat (yum!). The clam fritters had a wonderfully fluffy texture and a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely return. It was absolutely delicious!"
