"Initially, I tried to be patient since there were only two servers managing the restaurant. However, I noticed that three tables who arrived after us had already received their food and were attempting to settle their bills. I inquired with the hostess about the status of our order, and she informed me that they were behind. After waiting a long time without seeing our waitress, I asked her about our order only to discover that our ticket was lost and our food was never placed. I waited over an hour and 45 minutes only to find out that they hadn't even started cooking our meals. I requested to speak with the manager because I felt that I shouldn’t have to pay for my tea and appetizer under the circumstances. Unfortunately, he was busy cooking in the back and never came out to apologize or address the situation. It was a complete waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone."

So good! The retcina captured our taste buds; the food was lovely and the atmosphere allowed for unfettered conversation. Bonus: easy parking.

Ate here as part of the Forks and Corks tour. We had the flaming cheese, which i HIGHLY recommend, and a gyro. The wine was delicious. I would recommend!

Absolutely incredible!!! Flawless in every way. It was my first visit, and I can't wait to return for more. This is the best spot in St. Augustine—nothing else even comes close!! 10 stars!! View menu

Okay, so this place is not some large place you can get lost in. The opening feeling is so cozy. But don't let that fool you, its so wonderful! And its a great end to a wondeful St. Augustine evening.

The food was was VERY authentic Greek. And I should know, as I am a proud American Greek. The prices are more than reasonable especially considering the large portions. Service was awesome and the ambiance took me back to Greece. I highly recommend the Athena. Also my daughter's name

Absolutely amazing Greek cuisine! I highly recommend this restaurant. The gyros and souvlaki were delicious and incredibly fresh. I really loved the Greek potatoes as well. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals, and the service was excellent. I can't wait to return. The desserts were fantastic too! View menu

David and I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant since 1993, when the original owners, Gus and Maria, ran it. They were like family to us, and dearly loved. We are breakfast there every day, and we still come to the Athena when we are in town. They have the best breakfast ever, especially their omelets! They have an exceptional Greek salad, and the baklava is the best we've ever had. Even if you're too full to move, take some baklava to eat later you'll be glad!

We recently visited St. Augustine and dined at Athena Greek Cuisine. Both my wife and I were very pleased with our meals. My wife ordered the spinach cake, while I opted for the gyro plate, and we found the food to be incredibly fresh and tasty. The service was prompt and attentive. When I mentioned it was my wife's birthday, the waitress kindly treated us to a complimentary baklava after our meal. If you're in downtown St. Augustine and looking for a good meal, this is definitely the place to go.

"Cute interior and the service is very friendly, but there are some bumps and the food is hit or miss. There was plenty of seating when we arrived and we chose to take a table in the back I guess the front is the enclosed patio area, then there are some booths along a corridor toward the back section.Seating was tight and uncomfortable. There is a large condiment tray on every table full of sauces and seasonings which is cool at first until the food starts arriving and you realize there is no place to put it.Although the hostess explained the seating options and we told her we were heading to the back, we could not get a server to come over until I asked someone who it was. Once assigned, our server was very friendly and personable, but we had to wait quite a while. I don't have a problem waiting once we're greeted so we know who is taking care of us, but this was a concern. In the entire back room, there was only one other table seated besides ours. Their server went three times to their table without even batting an eye at us, so I finally had to yell out to get his attention. After that, our server came and apologized. We ordered the conch fritters and the corn cakes for appetizers. The conch fritters were mostly dough with little flavor, although the dipping sauce was okay. I guess that is why they have so many condiments available. The corn cakes are amazing, a very unique item that was very enjoyable. they come with cheese, avocado, and other goodies on top and are quite yummy.Entrees were sort of blah. My daughter's tuna wrap with a little teriyaki came drenched in it, ruining the delicate taste of the tuna. Shrimp and tuna tacos were okay, not great, not terrible. My mahi mahi was a bit dry, but the slaw and yucca fries I ordered as sides were fantastic.Overall, some good, some bad. Maybe we would try again."
