"My husband and I moved to Princeton about 4 years ago from the Chicago suburbs. We were so excited to find Barrel Society--it's a gem! We just love hanging out on a Friday night (or Saturday, or a Sunday for their amazing **** Marys, or sometimes on a random Thursday). The beer and bourbon list goes on and on and the cocktails are tasty and creative. The bartenders are very friendly and considerate. There's a bottle shop in the back that's stocked with beer, liquor, and other cocktail making needs (it's perfect because we're trying to build our home bar so we can run in and grab what we need). If they don't have something you're looking for in the bottle shop, they'll make suggestions (or even try to order it for you). Their special events and trivia nights are so fun. Nick, the owner, works really hard to bring in food trucks from all over, so on those occasions it's fun to grab some food and sit and eat in the bar with a cocktail or two. We're so appreciative that he's brought in so many great food options and comes up with fun events! Cheers!"

It's a bit on the expensive side for my preference, but it's definitely unique. It's worth checking out.

Saw of lot of positive reviews on Facebook. Glad I decided to make the trip. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Their selection of bourbon and craft beer is 2nd to none. One other plus is that the other patrons were friendly as well. I will be back.

Friendly staff and good beer selections. I'm sold! I rated this 3 years ago. Still so freaking good to go to every Saturday. Tasty beers, one hell of a liquor selection, and Nick, Gwen, Jesse and Dale will treat you as if they knew you for years. Top notch. I wish I could rate this place higher. View menu

It's taken me a couple of years of visiting to write this review. You will be hard pressed to find another bar bottle shop in Illinois that rivals Barrel Society. From the selection, to the amazing art collection, to the staff and the patrons who all make this a must stop. Barrel Society has become a staple in Princeton, it is worth your time to visit. All budgets are accommodated in both spirits and beers.I cannot say enough good things about this establishment, the crowd, the staff, the vibe, and the selection. Truly a diamond in the rough, so if you were on the fence I hope this helped you. 100% worth it.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars because I love everything about this place. We love Barrel Society and drive over an hour just to visit and drink. The best staff who give quick service, are very knowledgeable and kind. Huge rotating selections of craft beers, especially smoothie sours, and shelves upon shelves of whiskeys. The beers can be pricey but have always been delicious and worth it. Hands down the best **** Mary I've ever had. Cool vibes and decor. Nice but small back patio when the weather is good. It's also a perk if you're there when they have one of their many food trucks scheduled everything I've had has been topnotch just to add to the already good experience. I cannot re...

"When you walk in the vibe is relaxed, warm, and inviting, as if you were having dinner in a friend 's kitchen. There aren 't an overwhelming amount of choices but there is something for everyone. While you wait for your meal, enjoy the delicious flatbread. I am on a diet but everyone else loved it. What is delivered to your table is absolutely delicious. My daughter, who has eaten there before, raved about their house dressing. How excited can one get over salad dressing? It was so good. She ordered the Parpadelle Meat Sauce. She loved it. It was a lot so she took half of it home. Her boyfriend had the Apricot Walnut Salad. It looked delicious and he really enjoyed it. As I mentioned, I am on a diet so I was happy to see the variety of salads. I ordered the Pasta Fazool, yum, and the Beet Goat Cheese Salad; I added Shrimp. It was delicious, especially the shrimp, well seasoned, and they weren 't cheap on the beets or goat cheese which made me happy. It was topped with that salad dressing and, my daughter was right, it was delicious. My husband, whom we affectionately refer to as Bob the Food Snob , had the Frutta del Mar. He always sends his food back but loved this dish. The pasta is fresh, the sauce perfectly seasoned. We ended the evening with zeppole shared for the table. It comes with Nutella. My daughter 's boyfriend joked that zeppole filled with cannoli cream would be outrageously delicious. I ordered that and the Nutella. I expected the cannoli cream to be typical. It was really light. Yes, I had a taste because they were all talking about it and dessert is my thing. Brad was right, zeppole and cannoli cream is delicious. Put that on the menu! We are going back!"

"Update: 4/10/2022 Came here recently with my wife on our way back from Philly. Hadn’t been here since the pandemic and was pleasantly surprised to see that this place was still here. Ordered the same thing I always do and quality is still good. I’m so glad this little gem of a place is still in business. Prices have gone up a little but so has everything and most restaurants since the pandemic. A hidden gem. Ok, so it’s not one of those fancy Tokyo or New York quality sushi but then again, you’re not paying $500 for dinner (per person) either. I always eat the same thing here — the battered squid dinner plate or lunch, if you’re having it at lunch, with a squid roll and it comes with salad, too. My wife orders the Sushi Boy A or B. It’s a combo plate of such I. And there are lots of other great choices. So far, everyone I’ve taken there, really like the sushi. By the way, my wife is Japanese and she loves sushi (she knows what’s authentic and what’s not). I’ve been to so many of those all-you-can-eat sushi buffet joints where you pay anywhere from $12-20 per person but always end up disappointed. No one would expect to find this place...It’s in a hidden food court surrounded by stores like Gymboree and offices, etc near the Westin hotel in the Princeton Forrestal Village square. While it may be off the beaten path, this place will not disappoint. I’ve been going there for at least 7 years."
