"We've been going to Benchwarmer's since they opened up several years ago, and it is one of our favorite spots in Raleigh! I always recommend getting one of their amazing and fun bagel sandwiches as opposed to just a bagel with cream cheese (even though these are still great; try the maitre d'hotel cream cheese! . Look for their weekend specials as they are usually interesting and delicious. My favorite constant sandwhich on their menu is the #5 with smoked fish spread, pickled veggies, potatoe chips, and roe on a za'atar and sea salt bagel. The za'atar is hands down their best bagel and it is criminally underrated! Their coffee/espresso is great and their rotating 5th Quarter Cappuccino is my go-to. If you get there early enough, definitely get a Cardamom Bun or two; they are sooo good. A couple of disclaimers: These are not New York style bagels so don't expect that, but they are still delicious. There is almost always a line to order on weekend mornings, so make sure you plan accordingly (took about 25 minutes to order and receive my bagels around 11:30am on a Sat . They are definitely worth the wait! They do sicilian style pizza on Thurs-Sat night and they are super good. It may seem expensive, but it ends up being a lot more pizza than you'd think. Again, try the weekend special!"

Phenomenal bagels. Got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It was freshly made. It was everything I wanted in a bagel sandwich. Worth a visit.

The bagels here are absolutely delicious! I recommend trying them early on weekends, as there's a high demand and they tend to sell out quickly. My only complaint is that the vegan cream cheese is a bit too runny.

Such delicious bagel sandwiches. They had a variety of unique sandwiches and spreads. The line moved fast and we got our food fast. I enjoyed the everything bagel sandwich with scrambled eggs dukes Mayo bacon cheese. The coffee they served was also delicious. View menu

Benchwarmers is a stylish and tasty bagel shop at Transfer Co. Food Hall. You have the best bagels in Raleigh hands down. They also have very qualified baristas serving delicious coffee. You have a very creative menu that sometimes requires customers to be brave.

Bagels were very fluffy and good. One of the better bagel places I've had even compared to NJ/NY bagels. Bagels like this are hard to find. A variety of cream cheese spreads and butter is also great. I had the bacon honey butter which was delicious. The only complaint is the prices seem high. $2.25 for a bagel plus $2.50 extra for a specialty spread. A dozen bagels is $22.

I had the best bagel I've ever tasted! It was perfectly coated and had a delightful texture on both sides. The service was friendly and quick. They offer a variety of bagels and sandwiches, and they also serve large cups of locally roasted coffee. I found the prices to be very reasonable as well. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast or just to grab a bagel! View menu

Overall, pretty good. Got a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted everything. The bagel was very soft and wet despite being toasted. The bacon was crispy and delicious with excellent flavor. The eggs were good flavor, but the choice to use Duke’s Mayo was a little weird and probably what made the whole thing so wet. The chai latte was very weak and watery I wouldn’t recommend it. Unfortunately we went on a Sunday morning and their online ordering system wouldn’t let us order ahead so we waited in a very long line. The staff was good about moving the line quickly, but the bagels weren’t good enough that I’d really want to wait in a long line for them ever again.

The restaurant offers some intriguing flavor combinations. I tried the #1 sandwich, which features avocado, roasted garlic, radishes, and a charred grapefruit glaze, and I added scrambled eggs on a za'atar bagel. I really enjoyed the crunch of the radish along with the light sweetness of the grapefruit and garlic. My husband ordered the #9 sandwich with bacon. While the sandwiches were quite delicious, they were a bit on the salty side and a touch pricey at $17.32 for the two bagel sandwiches, especially after adding extras and before factoring in drinks. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. There’s plenty of parking available, although we usually use an EV charger about 0.7 miles away f...

"Even though this restaurant is an hour away from our home, it 's been our special occasion go to restaurant for years. We 've brought our parents here and purchased gift cards for our friends. I love the selection of creative vegan entrees, relaxed art house atmosphere, and live music. We 've always received friendly service and enjoyed our food in the past. This evening, for the first time in my life (at any restaurant), I sent back an entree. I was nearly in tears because I feel so guilty about wasting food. The replacement dish I received was even worse--what was advertised as pad thai turned out to be mushy noodles drenched in what tasted like rice vinegar, hastily topped with carrots and green beans. My husband tasted it and his face said it all. His words were borderline inedible. We were disappointed with the food, but we understand that on a busy Saturday night, mishaps with food can occur. Between us we have 30 years ' experience working in restaurants and have been confronted with many situations like this ourselves. What happened next turned our disappointment to anger: a manager came to our table with check in hand, apologized coldly, and seemed to think that comping the two meals I couldn 't eat had been a magnanimous gesture. She did offer us dessert, which I guess was a nice thought but not a substitution for dinner. I 'm giving a second star because my husband said his short ribs were very good, as was the appetizer. All said, we 're out $70 and I still haven 't had dinner. Side note: we advise purchasing bottled options if you 're a beer drinker. My husband is a professional brewer by trade and every draft beer from here has been flat and displayed off flavors. He knows what these beers are supposed to taste like, and it seems to be an issue with the draft system. Also, our entrees appeared about 5 minutes after we ordered them, which doesn 't seem like enough time for making things to order. Since writing this, it 's come to our attention that these changes are likely due to new ownership of the restaurant. The lack of hospitality combined with the lower quality food is sure to alienate their most loyal patrons, including us."
