"This place is more than just a cute name. The sandwich selections are great; good flavor carefully crafted recipes (not just random proteins thrown between bread) and a cute environment. I recommend the lumberjack and the Smashed Chickpea Artichoke (guess they ran out of cutesy names). A nice selection of pre-made items and beverages if you are looking for something fast and on the go. I was here on a 91° F day and the lack of air-conditioning was almost unbearable… as were the flies that were all over the place. Outside that good food, good service."

The biscuits are great. I liked the plain biscuit with butter and jam but they have biscuit sandwiches including a BLT, Ham Cheese and a breakfast biscuit with egg.

Oh my goodness the smashed chickpea w artichoke sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I?ve ever eaten! And kudos to the friendly guys working behind the counter on a very very hot September day!

Most people know this place makes incredible biscuits. Glorious biscuits. Coffee is fantastic too as is the granola. You can't go wrong here. Excellent! Would love a veg biscuit and gravy option.

The biscuits are very good. I wasn?t expecting to like them that much- but I did! I had the biscuits with marscapone cheese and honey. So creamy, so delicious and the biscuits are perfectly crisp on the outside! View menu

The low-down on this place is that it bakes Oprah's favorite biscuit. Just kidding. It ain't on the low-down. They advertise the heck outta the Oprah mention. The biscuits live up to the hype, though. Definitely worth a visit.

Their biscuits are really tasty. I tried both their BLT and sausage/egg on biscuits. Actually, they ran out of sausage so I got bacon instead. It reminds me of southern comfort food and who doesn't like some meat and buttery sandwichy?!?

Had to stop by here and give the biscuits a try. For someone that doesn?t love them, I was actually impressed. Flavorful and moist for sure. The chickpea artichoke sandwich tasted good but was totally messy. Tough to eat. The biscuit BLT was pretty good as well. View menu

I was recommended by a woman who worked at a nearby winery to visit this restaurant and she was absolutely right! The food was amazing! We went for lunch on the first day and came back for breakfast the next day. I highly recommend trying the biscuits with mascarpone and honey - they were incredibly delicious! If I ever find myself back in Guerneville, it will be for those biscuits!

"What a gem! Already looking forward to returning. Reservation made online and the couple times I called with a question the phone was answered by a friendly woman. Large parking lot right outside the hotel, check in was easy. Rather than having a dingy dated look that some hotels have, Highland has a vintage old world charm to it. I was pleasantly surprised by how bright and beautiful our room was! Hardwood floors, bright clean walls and crisp white bedding on the queen bed. The shower was bright and clean as well, with decent water pressure! We had a balcony overlooking the river to enjoy coffee and a book. Theres a large smart TV you can log into your Hulu, HBO, etc on. My only two wishes would be a mini fridge and a sheer curtain layer for light and privacy (they have blackout curtains great for sleeping in), but these aren 't important enough to ding any stars. We dined with them and oh my goodness the service, food, and ambiance were great. We sat on the deck but the dining hall is stunning with its sky high ceiling and beautiful wood beam design. Partner got the Jaegerspaetzle and I got the Goulash beef stew, both were divine. They also have a full bar. What made the dinner extra special was our warm friendly server Jo. What a sweetheart! She was genuinely touched by our anniversary and she shared local recommendations. She checked on us often to make sure we were happy and didn 't need anything. Thank you Jo! They have a breakfast buffet that was honestly the best I 've ever had for a complimentary breakfast. Great coffee, toasts, bagels, croissants, fruit, yogurt, meat and cheese cuts (apparently very European), hardboiled eggs cooked to perfection. This runs 8am to 10am. Lastly, there are great spots within short walking/driving distance. We walked ~5 mins down to the river where families and ducks played. We visited Armstrong Redwood Forest which was absolutely beautiful. Find the redwood theater for a quiet place to sit and read. We had lunch and window shopped in Guernville and dinner at the Boho Manor which is a 2 min walk from the hotel. Excellent all around, will be returning!"
