Big John Steak Onion

This restaurant serves the best steak sandwiches in the state. Whenever we are traveling and there is one nearby, we always make sure to stop by and grab a sandwich.

It doesn’t get any worse than this location.Sloppy soggy. Too lazy to make steak without onions so don’t even ask they’ll just give you the wrong order. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

I was often at the clipert st. store. the restaurant was clean, the people are friendly and they are fast to their order to them. the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars was lacking in broth elections.

hot and fresh. the cheese makes every selection perfect and filling. the steak sandwiches are wonderful, but there are other options, try a huh philly or a rueben. if they don't need the extra carbs, make it an salad instead.

Hands down the worst in this chain. Kids who work here could NOT CARE LESS!!! Not to mention the hours are inconsistent. Says they are open til 10, but its lights out at 837. If you can hit up the west side location, its awesome. But the Frandor store??? Is a joke. View menu

12/19/21 Arrive at 7:37 PM. Sign says open. 2 gentleman ran out n locked the door and turned the open sign off. This place Deserves 0 stars in my opinion. The owner needs to make his mine up at what time they close. It would be helpful to the public and your employees. Cedar Street much better 5 stars .

great food! Normally I would rate it a 5 stars, but this time the cook did not grill the mushrooms and jalapeno paprika with the swirls because he did not put a swirl in the sandwich! the first time I had ever paid for it? mushrooms and paprika that are not cooked have added another taste. no wobble have added another taste! great sandwich, just not what I wanted!

I have tried to order food from Big John Steak and Onion multiple times around 9:30 PM, which is half an hour before they close, only to be told that they are closed due to various excuses. Unfortunately, there is not a Big John Steak and Onion close to where I live in the Detroit area. Every time I drive in that direction, I always enjoy their sandwiches. However, with my late working hours, I often end up passing by closer to closing time. I typically avoid ordering food from restaurants with only 10 minutes left until closing, but I believe that half an hour before closing should be plenty of time to place an order without causing any issues.
