"Classification of a cheesesteak. A sandwich made from thinly sliced pieces of beefsteak and melted cheese in a long hoagie roll. A popular regional fast food, it has its roots in the U.S. city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At BIG TONY’S it is a memento of my travels to the city of Brotherly Love. Let’s open with the Bread. They use Amoroso’s Rolls. These are the building blocks of a textbook cheesesteak sandwich. Cheese Whiz is the next ingredient. This creamy magic adds another texture and layer to the cheese steak sandwich. Now, I am a Texan, and this Texan likes spicy food, so for me it is nothing more than a 4-ingredient masterpiece with the addition of Sautéed Jalapenos Thank you, Big Tony, for the ever so often reminder that a perfect sandwich can be made."

Cheesesteak was GREAT! Cheese Whiz is a must add! I'm not a fan of the type of French fries they use though. I'll have to try the sweet potato fries next time. View menu

Excellent food! Always enjoy your meal on-site! Philly cheesesteaks don't hold up well for takeout and are best enjoyed hot and fresh, rather than soggy and cold after sitting in your car for 15 minutes. The bread truly distinguishes this place from others, and the Fred's Sauce is a must-try!

Wow...strange experience at the allen location. There was a new employee I had never seen, a very gruff kinda rude off putting gentleman that definitely should not be doing customer service. After some time staying in house to eat and listening to him interact with customers I came to learn it was big tony...man oh man I would suggest he stay out of the store and away from customers. I certainly do not want to experience that again.

Food was so good the city hall was the perfect blend of steak and cheese with perfect onions and cheese. Despite the AMAZING philly like i really cant stress how amazing it was) i think the mild sauce that was included for the fries is what won me i wont even lie im biased cause im from chicago this was the closest i have ever gotten to chicago mild sauce and im in love 5000/10 recommend absolutely loved it almost ate my finger eating so fast View menu

My wife, who is from Pennsylvania, claims this is the best cheesesteak she's had outside of her home state, which is a huge compliment. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the portion sizes are very satisfying. It gets quite busy during lunch, so it’s a good idea to place your order ahead of time if you're planning to take it to go. They also have a monthly newsletter with deals, though unfortunately, those discounts aren't typically available for their most popular sandwiches. However, it's a nice opportunity to try something different.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was a genuinely nice person. The food here is outstanding—it's undoubtedly one of the best spots for a Philly cheesesteak in the DFW area. Update (August 2024): I returned and plan to come back soon. The food remains excellent; I had another Philly cheesesteak, and it was delicious. What really stood out to me this time was the service. I ordered some items to go while we enjoyed our meal, and without me even asking, they perfectly timed my to-go order so that it was ready just as we finished eating. I thought that was a wonderful touch. Many restaurants wouldn’t go the extra mile like that, and I truly appreciate their attention to detail.

"On our last night visiting our kids (we live in Michigan-they live in Texas), we chose lazy dog. There was no waiting, we were seated right away. I was truly impressed with the interior decor. The birch looking trees by the concierge lent an air of nature. The metal dog sculptures were pretty awesome. I loved the beams in the high ceiling, very cool and I am inspired to create something similar in my own home. The fireplace wall was awesome, huge and the deer head mounted on it was unique and fitting. The restaurant was clean and spacious, easy to see from the road. Our waitress was Margaret and she was very friendly, knowledgeable seemed happy to be there. She brought our drinks right away. My son enjoyed the Alaskan Halibut. He raved about how good it was. The rest of us were slightly disappointed. IMO, the lazy dog takes the usual menu offerings but puts their on twist on it. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just didn’t meet our expectations. The queso was orange cheese with a different flavor-not bad, but not what we were expecting either. My daughter got the fried chicken meal. The seasoning in the breading was, different, unusual. Four of us tried it, the only one that really enjoyed it was my son. I got the pot roast beef dip. That was good and tasty. Both I and my daughter enjoyed the sandwich. The onion rings didn’t have much taste and I found them unremarkable. Hubbs got the cheeseburger which he liked and my acquired daughter got the all American burger which she liked. The portions of food were generous, but I felt the prices were high. I’m glad we tried this restaurant, but it is not going on my “must return” or favorite lists."
