Boss Hoggin's Bbq - Menu

I'm a bit confused. My boyfriend and I drove quite a distance to eat here and try the food, but when we arrived around 6:30 or 7 p.m., the restaurant was closed. We even called, but no one answered. This was on a Friday!

Ate here recently with my boyfriend and the food was terrible. The restaurant was extremely dirty and it was freezing inside. While eating dinner the owner was disrespectful towards his staff and was very vulgar and shouting. Unprofessional owner in my opinion and all around terrible experience. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Everything was good, but especially the ribs and mac and cheese. My husband also really liked the baked beans. We each had the three meat platter (ribs, pulled pork, brisket). Ribs were by far our favorite, followed by pulled pork then brisket. We tried three sauces (vinegar, jack daniels, spicy) and the spicy sauce was our favorite, and actually not super spicy. First visit to this place today. Stop in looking for something quick. Didn't expect much. WOW What a find. Very friendly staff, the best hush puppies I have had in forever. Ordered the combo an fries it was great fall off the bone ribs. Could not finish it. Large portion. Girl friend had the brisket wrap, loved it, she said the baked beans were out of this world. Worth a trip.

Stumbled upon this place ... it’s their 1 year anniversary! So good, especially the smoked deep fried chicken wings—that was the highlight for me. Add those to a Triple Threat (1/4 lb each of brisket, pulled pork, ribs) and you’re good to go! The beans are a fantastic side if you need a bit more. All the sauces are great, KC Sweet and Carolina Gold stand out. Clean place, decent seating, great rock’n roll soundtrack, and friendly staff that keep checking on you. Just became my new favorite local BBQ! ???? ????

I am pretty particular about bbq, but this was easily the best bbq pork I've had since I left the deep south 16 years ago. I dug the sauce choices available as well they cater to everyone's tastes from Texas style to NC style. The sides I had were delicious (greens green beans hush puppies). This was originally supposed to just be a one stop place out of curiosity on a way to a vacation destination with my family, but we went out of our way to stop for lunch again on our drive back home. Found this place passing through, and it was worth the stop. We got the hush puppies appetizer, three meat platter, pulled pork, beans, potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The firecracker sauce on the ribs had a great flavor, and the beans have a little bit of sweetness to them. The hush puppies were the best part of the meal, they had a really nice golden crunchy outside. The four stars instead of five (because the food and service are worth 5)was because of a couple cleanliness issues. There were a lot of flies and there was a hair in one of the dishes. But neither of those will deter me.

We were in town for Brocks Gap Heritage Day and had never been to the area before. We found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out. It's set in a beautiful location and the restaurant itself is so cute and has a charm to it. We were immediately greeted by a server who told us to sit anywhere we'd like. The service was really splendid at Boss Hoggins. Our waitress was amazing and very helpful. My husband asked if the smoked meatloaf has onions and neither the server or the owner were sure, the owner actually came up to us a few minutes later and said he called his wife who makes the meatloaf to check!
