"I called to order a large pizza and they said they don?t make them. Strange being as it?s a Italian restaurant but anyway. The guy told me they have medium size so I decided to go with it. When I picked it up, it was about the size of a personal pizza. Very small. I ordered as soon as they opened so I know they were not busy yet and somehow my pizza still managed to stay in the oven to long and got burnt. Burnt crust ruins the entire pizza. We ended yo throwing it outsince it wasn?t even edible. I gave a generous 3 stars because I?m hopeful it was only the pizza they can?t cook right."

You can't go wrong with the prices at this place. It's a wonderful family restaurant that features a full bar. The staff is delightful, and the Italian comfort food is satisfying. I'd rate the food a 3, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 3.

The food was fantastic! The pizza was incredibly flavorful, and the antipasto was scrumptious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the eggplant parmesan, which was outstanding! The restaurant has a cozy ambiance and offers a lovely view of the river. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

**Dining Experience** **Meal Type:** Lunch **Food Rating:** 5/5 **Service Rating:** 3/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 3/5 I had a delightful lunch at this restaurant, with the food being the standout aspect of my visit—I would rate it a perfect 5. However, the service left a bit to be desired, earning a 3. The atmosphere was also just average, so while I enjoyed the meal, there’s room for improvement in service and ambiance. View menu

I recently had a delightful experience at an Italian restaurant in Monticello. The service was outstanding, and our waitress was exceptionally kind. The food was superb, and the restaurant boasts a lovely backyard. My friends and I dropped by for a quick lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend this spot; it's perfect for families or a meal with friends. The pizza is among the best you'll find in the upper Hudson Valley. Definitely give this place a try—you won’t regret it!

This charming restaurant is somewhat hidden behind ongoing roadside construction. Family-owned and recently moved from Monticello, Brother Bruno's is now situated alongside the peaceful Mongaup Creek, offering beautiful views. The food—appetizers, entrees, and desserts—is outstanding, and the waitstaff is both efficient and friendly. Prices are quite reasonable, and the establishment is well-maintained, including clean restrooms. There's a full bar at the front, and ample parking is available. On September 8th, 2020, the Sullivan County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe here.

"The Fat Lady Cafe was a welcome surprise as we passed The Local Table and Tap which we've been to before and is quite good. However, bc of where we parked we decided to try The Fat Lady Cafè and boy, was it a winner for our family!!!! They had just reopened the day before (5/27/2021). Our server, Junior, was kind and generous and knowledgeable. Service was top notch. Our kids ordered off the kids menu (even though they usually don't). The grilled cheese sandwich and chicken nuggets they each ordered came with fries, drink (milk, chocolate milk, juice) and a brownie (fresh baked each day). I ordered the gazpacho but I dared to let my 7 year old daughter try it and she immediately claimed strict 50% ownership of it. Needless to say, it was delicious. I also had the pastrami on rye with mustard which was just what I wanted. My husband had a cheddar burger and fries which he basically inhaled. Luckily we had the privilege of meeting the owner as she stopped by. She told us how she hired a new chef and bakes desserts every day. Her name is Judy and she's a lovely, friendly person. Our 7 and 9 year old kids had their brownies and my husband had the banana chocolate cake (which Judy says she makes daily bc her grandkids love it). My husband agreed. The dinner entrees looked great, too. Go here for lake side seating, perfect service and delicious food made with love. The experience made our whole family exclaim we love the fat lady cafe On the way home. It was a unanimous hit. Can't wait to go back all summer long!"

"My burger was excellent, a five star meal; It was the best I've had in a long while, perfectly cooked, crispy and charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spicy pickles here are an interesting touch, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, the tomato perfect. The fries were also absolutely delicious, cut much thinner than I've seen elsewhere. My date's meal was a little less exhilarating; Arugula and roasted mushrooms on grilled cheese sounded good in principle but tasted bitter in practice. The view from the outdoor deck was beautiful. My reason for docking the star however, comes not from the food or view, but from other sources. For example, the palm-sized ball of human hair and dust that blew back and forth between the door and my table for the duration of my meal, chased by concerningly abundant flies which flew in our faces and landed on our food; The speakers played a maddening, endless string of soulless modern reggae songs that sounded like the same single tune stuck on repeat; and the waitress, while efficient and kind to us, seemed to be the only person waiting on every single customer in the place by herself. I watched in dismay as she carried a customer a shot of liquor to a customer between her fingers instead of on a tray (an especially bad idea during COVID-19), an unnoticed stream of spilled drink pouring from the overfilled glass and onto the floor; shortly after, I was further distressed to see her pick up and throw crumbs from one of the tables into the lake, which simply isn't an acceptable food waste receptacle and might explain the flies. If it wasn't for the truly impressive burger these factors would have brought it down to 3.5 or 3 stars."
