"This review is written from a vegetarian perspective. In short, the only edible food was the Eggplant Bao, which was actually delicious and why this review still qualifies for two stars. On the other end of the spectrum, the Vegan Pho was promised as a vegetable broth, but in reality, was nothing more than flavorless hot water. The tofu was actually bitter, indicating it was not fresh. For the Pad Thai, usually the chief complaint is that it is too sweet. I never thought I 'd ever find a restaurant where I 'd be criticizing the Pad Thai as flavorless.Clearly, when an Asian fusion place tries to be jack of all trades between all its Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese menu items, it succumbs to being master of none. Or possibly just master of one (buns)."

I discovered this place while waiting for another restaurant, and what a delightful surprise it was! The Japanese wines, buns, and appetizers were all fantastic. I will definitely be coming back!

The food here is fantastic! The shaken beef is absolutely incredible, and the pork belly buns are quite delicious as well. The service is outstanding too. Overall, I’d rate the food a perfect 5 out of 5. View menu

A great modern Vietnamese restaurant in Austin. Some interesting twists on classic dishes like the Banh mi dip and beef belly bun. Decor inside is fun and modern Asian as well. Not the place if you want super classic Vietnamese favorites but tasty and fun!

We visited on an early weekday evening. There was only one other party (a party of 2) seated at a booth that could seat a party of 4. But, we, also a party of 2 was led to a small table. After ordering, it took a while to be served. The food was mediocre and there were FLIES. They made the dining experience worse. I do not plan on visiting again. By the time we left there was still barely any business.

Today I ate something that made my heart happy. I stopped by Bun Belly because I was in the mood for a Bao Bun. I had a to-go order and just expected average food. What I got was much more. Let's get to the good part, here's what I had.Pork belly Bao bun- damn this was good! The pork belly has a sweet sauce and Bao was fresh and tasty. It was so good I forgot to take a pic!Grilled pork bahn mi- this sandwich made me smile. There was plenty of pork and the bread was crunchy and sweet. Loved this sandwich!I'll be coming back to try more of the menu and also try some of the other restaurants in the shopping center. View menu

Everything was really excellent tonight. The menu is a mix of some asian cuisine from Taiwanese gua bao to mostly vietnamese noodle dishes. The sober noodles were very good with a tangy slightly vinegar tasting sauce just delicious. Fried rice had large chunks of lobster and shrimp for very reasonable, by Austin standards, $20. The shrimp apring roll was good and the peanut sauce was served warm which was a very pleasant twist. The banh xeo crepe was also perfectly prepared and seasoned. Service was fine. She didnt write the order our order down and we didnt receive one item but also werent charged for it so all good.

I've visited Bun Belly twice, receiving decent service and delicious food each time. It is a very casual dining option in a small and bright space. Both times I experienced slow service and had to initiate paying after we finished eating. While the service may be slow, the food comes out fast and warm!I was very satisfied with the spring rolls, pork belly bao, pork belly banh mi, and duck banh mi dishes. You can't go wrong with ordering, as all the food looks delicious, and I had a great experience with these dishes. They are very filling, flavorful, and priced well. The location is in a huge plaza, so it is a great place to get a casual lunch while in the area.
