"My wife and I have been frequenting Capt’n Curt’s for around 10 years, visiting at least two or three times each winter. We enjoy the restaurant's indoor dining, the shirt shack, and the NE clam chowder kits (of which we have purchased many). During our recent visit on January 5th, we noticed some differences in the dishes we ordered compared to previous seasons. My wife had clam strips, a green salad, and a crab cake, while I had calamari and an oyster basket. The clam strips were decent but not exceptional, and the crab cake seemed thinner than in previous years. The salad was more of a combination of chopped veggies rather than a traditional green salad. The calamari was also prepared differently than usual and was deep-fried instead of pan-fried, affecting the flavor. The fried oysters were the highlight of the meal, although we were disappointed that the "staple" version was no longer available. Despite these minor disappointments, we plan to return to Capt’n Curt’s before we depart for the north. The ambiance is inviting, and the service is consistently great. However, we believe there could be more attention to detail in the menu offerings. Our bill for lunch for two, without alcohol, came to $93 before tip, but we felt satisfied with the amount of food we received. Although we did not order the NE clam chowder on this visit, we plan to stock up on the kits before leaving. We also intend to purchase some of Capt’n Curt’s shirts, which have been of high quality in the past. In conclusion, we recommend more oversight on the taste and portion sizes of dishes served, without compromising on quality. Customers prioritize delicious food over cost, and we hope that the restaurant maintains their standards, especially with the clam chowder."

Unfortunately the food was not what we expected after reading all the reviews. None of the meals tasted that good in our opinion. However we had great service and the atmosphere was great.

The Filet fish was really delicious with great flavor! The vegetables were just okay, nothing special. The margaritas were good too! The server was sweet and the atmosphere was nice. The Boom Boom shrimp appetizer was also tasty.

We always stop by Cap Curt's when we are in SRQ. We usually walk the beach and then head to Curt's to get some clam chowder and Crabby Red ale. Food is above your standard bar food and for a decent price given the location. Parking can be a challenge at peak times. View menu

Food and atmosphere were amazing service was horrible. Waiter took 20 minutes to even address us then when we ordered sodas during our meal had to ask twice to get them at that point food was gone. Apparently Cameron was the servers name heard a manage say that much. Over all grateful environment

I am still here as I write this review. The staff at this restaurant was excellent, it was clear that they enjoyed their work and took great care of all the customers with a smile. They answered all questions with firsthand knowledge. The food was amazing. I regretted ordering the cup of clam chowder instead of the bowl as soon as I tasted it. It was probably the best chowder I have ever had, and I usually judge a restaurant's quality based on their chowder. For my first visit, I always go for the snow crab entree, which tasted delicious and was properly prepared.
