"I hate to leave a bad review because we always eat here while in town and enjoy it. This time, it just wasn’t that great. Our waitress was great and attentive, but the food wasn’t up to the standards what we normally have there. I had the grilled chicken and it is normally 2 good sized portions, this time it was what appeared to be one breast filleted and split. It was rubbery and overcooked. It had no taste. I ate half of one. The steamed veggies were barely cooked and raw and chewy. I understand that people come for the seafood which is why we come for my husband, but that doesn’t mean that everything else you serve doesn’t deserve the same attention. We are paying for a meal as well even if we aren’t ordering seafood."

This was my third visit and it has been absolutely delicious each time! I have gotten the Captain John’s Seafood Platter all three times and would highly recommend it! They also have the best hush puppies you’ve ever tried! Our server was great too!

Friendly staff and plenty of parking. We were greeted and served a basket of freshly made, hot hush puppies with sweet butter that were the best hush puppies I have ever eaten. I had the Grouper broiled a generous thick cut) done perfectly. Served with sautéed corn and baked potato. We also had the stuffed salmon with a crab stuffing. We were looking for seafood..Oyster Rock was an 1 1/2 hour wait. We walked to Captain John's and we were very pleased.I had sauted scallops and usually you get 4-5..I had 21, and they were excellent. My wife had the chicken. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer..very helfull and accommodating.My wife loves Hush puppies and said they were excellent..and said the Cosmo was almost as good as the ones at Tropics in Honolulu.We will be back

Stopped at captain John's for dinner. I ordered the shrimp and fish senior dinner and my friend ordered the large scallop dinner. The scallops were very good however the fish on my plate was very overcooked and almost impossible to cut was a knife. The shrimp was pretty good average calabash style popcorn shrimp. The waitress was very good and did an excellent job taking care of this period. The price for the senior dinner was a side salad was about 20 bucks bucks the cost for the scalloped dinner was $29.
