"Absolutely fantastic in every way, just as I remembered!! Thanks to everyone on staff who made this such an enjoyable meal experience! I lived in Williamsburg for almost 10 years and moved out of state for work back in 2010...haven't had a chance to get back until this past weekend. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL...the atmosphere, the service staff, and the food!! If you've never experienced this PHENOMENAL RESTAURANT, you are missing out big time...I highly recommend it and can't wait for my next trip back to Food for Thought!! Dietary restrictions: A full Gluten Free menu...very few places offer this, so well done Food for Thought!! Kid-friendliness: The service team was fantastic with my young grandkids...great food dessert options which they both loved!"

"Stuck in Mickey-land for a convention, a group of us were looking for a Sunday brunch spot. Oscar's at the Waldorf sounded like what we wanted and off we went. Although I'm not a lover of buffets, this one looked amazing, with more variety than usual, including a smoked salmon bar, prosciutto bar and honey dripping from a honeycomb! There were a lot of family's with kids, so it was a bit noisy, but that didn't really detract...everything the group of 4 tried, we loved. Only 2 things that were a little strange were that the cost of the buffet only included Mimosas, not **** Marys and there were no Eggs Benedict on the buffet??What impressed me most though was the commitment to making the customer happy. When I got to the salmon bar, it was empty, although two staff members I asked told me it would be restocked. When I mentioned it to our waiter, he came back and said they'd run out, which was disappointing. The manager came over an apologized, said they'd even sent over to the next door Hikton but they were out til Monday...not what I wanted to hear. 15 minutes later the manager appeared with a plate heaped with the best smoked salmon I've had in a long time....THAT is service."

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Berret’s Restaurant gave us one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Lovely, casual dining room. Great menu. Friendly people from the moment we walked in until we left. Delicious salads. Excellent, excellent entrees. The best crab cakes we have ever eaten. Marvelous texture, flavor and presentation. The pistachio encrusted salmon was perfect. The blueberry peach cast iron cobbler was fantastic. One thing that we really can say about this restaurant is that you can sit, dine and actually hear the conversation at the table!! It was wonderful. If I was to have one complaint, it would be the dipping oil used for the soft, warm bread. It had very little flavor or color. But then, the bread was so good that the oil was not really needed. Berret’s is a great restaurant! Thank you!!"

"Booked an early dinner, wanted to check this place out for a while. Having read some of the reviews, I was a little reluctant, but we were promptly seated. Ordered drinks, the bar was a little slow, but nothing to complain about. My wife ordered the steak salad, which was good. I ordered the prime burger and sweet potato fries and a salad. Burger was really good, two patties cooked to order, they brought fries instead of the sweets, but they corrected the mistake and the sweet potato fries were tasty. Would have been better hot. The salad was fresh with two big strips of bacon. Overall the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant was between fair and good. Might give them another shot, but wouldn't rush back."
