We were coming back from a trip to the Kiamichi mountains and stopped here for lunch. Our food was hot and fresh and the people were nice and friendly at the register. I was happy that we gave it a whirl!

This restaurant serves delicious fried chicken. It 's definitely hit or miss with Charlie 's Chicken. Sometimes the chicken is good and other times it has made me sick to my stomach. The mashed potatoes are definitely boxed and I don 't recommend. The fried okra is good, the desserts can be a toss up. I ordered a cobbler as I wanted something sweet and I was shocked to realize that there wasn 't any crust. When I took the first bite I thought it was crust, but instead of crust it was a thick, crunchy layer of sugar. Thinking that maybe it was just a fluke I took another bite and realized that the whole cobbler was nothing but fruit with hard sugar as the crust. Hey everyone! I highly recommend visiting Charlie's Chicken in Checotah, OK! I took my family there for a quick lunch while we were camping at Belle Starr by Lake Eufaula on a hot August weekend before school started. The ladies working behind the counter were incredibly friendly. There were four of us in total, but my daughter was the only one who ordered catfish, so she had to wait a little longer for her meal. They ended up bringing her a fresh, hot plate of catfish without even having to call out for her to come pick it up, which I really appreciated. It's so kind of them to do that for their customers.
