"Went here for a family gathering of 20 people. Everyone kept hyping this place up all week but I have to say I’m incredibly disappointed. It may be because they had such a large order at once, but my fried calamari was absolutely flavorless and rubbery. I mean not even a hint of spice or salt added, and the marinara seemed like the cheap store bought stuff and was equally flavorless . I also got some garlic Parmesan chicken tenders that I have to imagine were from frozen, but at least had some flavor. My wife said her chicken cordon bleu was also incredibly under seasoned, with similar criticism from my brother, his wife, and my mother. The building itself was beautiful, but it’s pretty clear to me from what I saw of the other patrons that the only people who come here are old white people who think mayonnaise is spicy. The waitresses were very welcoming and overall excellent though, which is the only reason I didn’t give one star. That being said, I went to the bar to grab some drinks for the table and the bar tender seemed inconvenienced that I came up and interrupted his conversation with one of the other staff and had a pretty unfriendly tone. After struggling through a few bites to hold me over, I decided to box up most of my meal to take it home and season it/refry it myself. Given the price of sub par food, I don’t think my wife and I will ever go back."

This was my first visit to Charlton Tavern, and I absolutely loved it. I started with the French onion soup as an appetizer, and it was delightful—full of flavor and light, bringing back memories of my great-grandmother making it when I was younger. For my main course, I ordered the burger with sweet potato fries, which were both excellent. Everything at the tavern is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly and happy to offer suggestions. I highly recommend stopping by Charlton Tavern if you're in the area; it's definitely worth it!

Our party of 14 walked in, at 2pm on a Sunday, without notice. To our delight the staff was able to accommodate us. We sat in the large front/main dining room. The atmosphere was a lovely and comfortable rustic with a small bar tucked in one corner. I didn 't get a close look at the bar, I did notice the only a few TVs only in that area, which I appreciated. It was covered floor to ceiling with wood, exposed beams on the ceiling, tavern decor with an Irish vibe adorned the walls and ceiling.
