"It was hard to rate this experience because it took 30 minutes for us to be waited on after being seated. We were given water, but nothing else. We watched other servers pass by and were confused as to who our server was. We were seated in the outdoor patio area, which was nice, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the chairs. They weren’t very comfortable. Once we caught someone’s attention, another server soon came over to assist us and their service was great. We were compensated a bit for our wait, but it did almost ruin the overall experience for us. Fortunately, the tfood I ordered was AMAZING! Though my sister and friend didn’t like the shrimp scampi as much as I enjoyed the baseciola pasta dish. But the appetizer and dessert were my favorite part of the meal! I ordered the wings (phenomenal! and a classic cannoli for dessert. I’d love to come back, but would hope to not wait as long next time!"

It was a beautiful and comfortable space and the baseciola was delicious. The house bread was also really good and we had good and friendly service. I thought the prices were reasonable and there’s plenty of street parking.

You can definitely taste the high-quality ingredients in the food. The prices were about average, but the flavors and combinations of ingredients are far superior to most Italian restaurants in Louisville. I can't wait to return!

Absolutely a gem! Very authentic Italian food. We ordered risotto, pizza, and ravioli (but forgot to take pictures unfortunately). Loved the chill vibes here. Our server was very considerate and split the tiramisu for us. Great place!

Appetizers were great. The fried ravioli and meatball were amazing. My only concern is that food did not came hot (but the hot that you can actually eat, not burnt yourself). However, if you love italian food, you'll love this place. Sorry for the photos. View menu

five stars for eating! everything we ordered was delicious; the charcuterie board is good to his weight in cheese alone. lobster ravioli is literally filled with visible humnations; so mouthwatering and satisfying! fried calamari and of course the homemade bread are not to be missed. the service was excellent except the server, and the menu was still clear. try the clic pinot gris!

Ciao Ristorante was an excellent choice for our date night. My wife and I chose to have an early Valentine's Day dinner there. The ambiance is stunning, creating a lovely setting. The food was incredible, and the service was top-notch. We started with the roasted ravioli as an appetizer, which we absolutely loved. For the main course, my wife enjoyed the Gnocchi alla Vodka, while I had the Pappardelle Duck Ragu. We were both very pleased with our meals. We definitely intend to return in the future.

The service was fantastic, and our food arrived promptly. The calamari was delightful, especially for those who enjoy olives. The complimentary bread was freshly baked and warm. We also tried the scallops and lobster ravioli, both of which were wonderful. One small note is that the garlic spinach accompanying the scallops might be a bit overwhelming for some, as it was quite garlicky. It seemed like the garlic might have been cooked a little too long, making it a bit stronger than expected. Overall, everything was still amazing! View menu

I live near Ciao and since it has opened I am sure I have eaten here more than 30 times. And I have also ordered take out especially during the pandemic. To me the food is delicious and unique. Serving sizes are large and I often take some home. I particularly love to come for lunch. It is a little quieter and less crowded. I often come with friends and we can have a great visit without being rushed. Server Carl and owner Bridget are very kind and accommodating. My favorites are their soups, salads, and the savory monkey bread. I always know that if I have guests at my home and I can bring them to Ciao and we will not be disappointed.

Made reservations for my wife and I and our son. The hostess and check in was smooth and she was so friendly. The place itself is nice, ambiance suitable for small parties or date nights. The waiter was not friendly to be honest. Nebbish service. The food was also nothing to rave about and served luke warm instead of hot. I think the price was a bit high for the offerings overall. Especially the beer which was local but priced like a rare Belgian quadrupple or something similar. The one saving grace, desserts. The desserts were really good, made in house. I would not return here but if you want to stop by for one of their desserts I think thats about all I can recommend. This is somewhat an...

"Now, let's talk about the food. The crab cake appetizer was the best we've ever had! It was mostly pure crab with just enough breadcrumbs on the outside to hold it together, featuring large chunks of crab. Delicious! We had heard repeatedly that Repeal has the best steaks in the city, so we felt we had to try them. Unfortunately, we didn't agree. My filet was overcooked and actually charred on one side, even though I requested it medium well (with a bit of pink). My husband’s steak was undercooked despite him ordering medium well, too. While we could have sent them back, we usually don’t unless something is inedible, so we were just disappointed. The steaks were still edible and good—just not great! The $20 twice-baked potato wasn’t worth the price, even with truffle slices and truffle oil included. The Caesar salad was also underwhelming. The white anchovies were an interesting addition, but they didn’t elevate the salad for us. The bread pudding, however, was fantastic! I highly recommend it. On the downside, the cocktails were below par. I know this may seem like a harsh critique of Repeal, but that’s not my intention! I think we set our expectations too high and were somewhat let down given the prices. With that said, would I go back? Yes! I would just choose very different items from the menu next time and likely opt for wine over cocktails."
