"I am living in San Gabriel Valley, near Los Angeles. There were many Vietnamese restaurants in my area but I thought Vietnamese restaurants in Little Saigon were better. Turned out I was wrong. I ate cơm tấm (broken rice) with chả trứng, tàu hủ ky, bì which cost $14.95 plus tax. Not a large portion not as good as the same order at Cơm Tấm Kiều restaurant on Valley Blvd, Rosemead city nearby my house (which cost less, about less than $13). We also ordered seafood wonton soup, which cost more than $12 plus tax, which was not good either."

As for parking, it can be a challenge in this plaza with limited and tight spots, but given the steady flow of customers, you'll likely find a space if you stay patient.

Come here often for their Mi Ga Quay . Awesome sauce and perfectly cook chicken every single time. Service is friendly and professional. Very busy around dinner time so if you order to go, you might want to call first.

This is the only spot you need to visit for Com Tam! The food is consistently delicious and has maintained its great taste over the 15 years I've been coming here. The staff are familiar with the steady stream of orders, so they work quickly and are very helpful. Although I don’t dine in frequently, the restaurant always appears clean and has a cozy atmosphere.

This place has been around forever and is well known for its com tam (broken rice) dishes. It's got the here's-a-menu-what-do-you-want service that's typical of older Vietnamese restaurants, which is great if you want to get in and out quickly. Overall, it's a pretty solid com tam restaurant with reasonable prices.I've been disappointed with the tau hu ky the last few times. It's a bit too doughy. View menu

The food was excellent! Although it was a bit loud and crowded, which made us feel overlooked after being seated, the staff eventually took our order, and the food arrived promptly. We might have arrived during one of their peak times because by the time we finished eating, many tables had cleared out. I highly recommend trying their broken rice with pork and egg—it's absolutely delicious and their specialty!

This is one of my favorite spots in Orange County for broken rice whenever I visit. They used to accept cash only, but I was pleased to see that they now accept card payments during my last visit. The rice dish always comes with soup and a delicious fish sauce. The authenticity of the place is evident, as it's often filled with Vietnamese families and friends. The restaurant is spacious, well-maintained, and clean.

I strongly recommend the Com Tam Thit Nuong Cha. The meat is perfectly seasoned and nicely charred, without being overcooked. The soup that accompanies the broken rice dish is a delightful addition. There are gacha machines in the back for $1. Be sure to ask for your sauces or non-spicy options when your food arrives, as the servers won’t return after the last dish is served. As for parking, there are usually spots available, but they tend to be a bit small. View menu

This is hands down the best Cơm tấm in OC ?-The pork chop was super flavourful and juicy. The shrimp mousseline in tofu sheets was nice and crispy ? And the steamed pork cake was super moist ? and let me tell you, a good nước mắm makes all the difference. It completes the dish and makes it so much better. They def do it right here at Thanh Restaurant ? Love that they use broken rice as well!I highly recommend this spot and would return again! DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SPOT!!

Broken rice, known as “Cơm Tấm,” is a specialty dish from Vietnam. If you've ever visited Saigon, you’re likely familiar with this must-try dish: Saigon broken rice. In the United States, the Saigon broken rice plate maintains its authentic appeal while also incorporating exciting flavors, such as popular shrimp rolls wrapped in tofu skin, alongside fragrant grilled pork ribs and traditional fresh yellow egg rolls. These delicious dishes are a must-try when visiting Little Saigon in the US.

"So I suppose it's up to the manager of a restaurant whether to replace a returned entree at no extra charge the customer for the uneaten food. Whatever the policy at Sakana (we didn't ask when we saw the item in question added to our bill, we didn't feel like getting into an argument), we still found the attitude of the server when my girlfriend didn't enjoy her spicy miso ramen to be unacceptable. Instead of simply offering a replacement when my girlfriend explained that she couldn't taste any miso in the broth, the lady server told us that the miso ramen tasted as intended and that adding more paste to the broth would make it too salty. It still didn't taste very good, but whatever. Fine. My gf orders the curry ramen instead. It's pretty decent, nothing to write home about. At the end of the meal, we get charged full price for the spicy miso even tho all she ate of it was the egg added at additional cost. Did not mention this before the bill came out. We probably would've moved on without complaint if we hadn't been talked down to when trying to replace the order or had the return policy more clearly explained to us. Will not be coming back due to this experience. I've been to better and more expensive restaurants that return and replace an entree, no questions asked, especially when -you didn't eat it-. I've had $50 steaks taken back without being charged, but you're gonna die on the hill of your watery $15 ramen? No thx. The food, for the most part, is okay. My tonkutsu ramen broth was acceptable, tho my pork was overcooked. My gf's replacement curry ramen was better than the spicy miso, but it was not great. It did have tasty fried chicken, but very few other ingredients besides noodles and spinach. She wasn't so into it. Where the cuisine shines is the sushi. The fish tastes like it's well sourced and is adequately competitive for the price range. We didn't love the ramen experience, but we were actually considering coming back just for the sushi before we saw that they'd charged us for the returned food. The shrimp shumai appetizer was tasty but a little skimpy on the portions, four tiny dumplings for $8 or $9. Ultimately, Sakana is worth going to if you just want sushi and don't mind a somewhat cramped and loud atmosphere during peak hours and a snooty attitude from the staff. I'd have added more stars if not for the service experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Nigiri"
