"TLDR They will punish you for being clean/sanitary. THEY CHARGE $2 per cup, if you ask for water in a to-go cup… I used to stop by this restaurant many times with my wife. As a local business owner, I would also invite different clients to eat here. I became friends with some servers and made sure to tip them well each time I ate here. Whenever my wife and I ate here, we would always ask for water in disposable “to-go” cups because we have had some bad experiences in the past with dirty cups. The last time I visited, the server let me know they would have to charge me for to-go cups. The type of cups they use are Dart brand foam cups not sure if it’s 12 or 16 oz). At Costco, 1000 16oz Dart foam cups go for $79.99, which comes out to around 8 cents per cup. The last time I visited, they charged me FOUR DOLLARS $4) for 2 WATERS in a TO-GO cup. $2 a cup is WAY TOO MUCH. I would pay 50 cents, maybe a dollar at most. It feels like they are trying to punish me for being clean. I told the server to pass on a message to the owner, are these two disposable cups worth losing long time customers? For the record, I didn’t get a reply from the owner. I made sure to tip well, since it was not the server’s fault, but that was the last time I stopped by. Since then I have been to many restaurants in the area and still have not found a single restaurant that has charged me AT ALL for water in to-go cups, let alone TWO DOLLARS. Everywhere else offers this FOR FREE. In the end, two dollars may not be much, but it strongly implies that you do not value me as a customer or my satisfaction. That pushes me away. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this restaurant to my clients any longer."

One of the best places to get really good Vietnamese broken rice dishes. You might have to wait a bit to get a seat on the weekend.

Everything was delicious, and I appreciated how reasonably priced it was. The portions were generous enough for me to share with someone else. As for the service, it was comparable to any other Vietnamese restaurant; the staff did their best, which is all you can really ask for.

Many delicious dishes to eat with broken rice, shrimp rolls, egg rolls, spring rolls, and super delicious grilled spring rolls. Clean, fun, cute. I don't understand why some people criticize it badly. My family never gets tired of eating it, because other places usually only have ribs, egg rolls, and fried eggs. The kids are very addicted to the spring rolls here. View menu

This is the best Com Tam in Orange County, and it's the closest I've found to the excellent Com Tam restaurants I've tried in Saigon. The flavor is authentically Vietnamese, reminiscent of how my mother would prepare it. The service is good; I only experienced a minor issue once, which wasn’t a big deal. However, one small drawback is that the restaurant is somewhat small, so it can feel a bit cramped during busy hours.

I decided to try something different for lunch today in Little Saigon. Rather than choosing one of the many Phở spots in the area, I opted for Cơm Tấm at this restaurant. It was delicious, and the portion size was quite generous. I enjoyed the texture of the meat and the shrimp served on the sugar cane, as well as the shredded pork that paired nicely with the rice. Overall, my dining experience was enjoyable, and my waiter was very friendly.

"So I suppose it's up to the manager of a restaurant whether to replace a returned entree at no extra charge the customer for the uneaten food. Whatever the policy at Sakana (we didn't ask when we saw the item in question added to our bill, we didn't feel like getting into an argument), we still found the attitude of the server when my girlfriend didn't enjoy her spicy miso ramen to be unacceptable. Instead of simply offering a replacement when my girlfriend explained that she couldn't taste any miso in the broth, the lady server told us that the miso ramen tasted as intended and that adding more paste to the broth would make it too salty. It still didn't taste very good, but whatever. Fine. My gf orders the curry ramen instead. It's pretty decent, nothing to write home about. At the end of the meal, we get charged full price for the spicy miso even tho all she ate of it was the egg added at additional cost. Did not mention this before the bill came out. We probably would've moved on without complaint if we hadn't been talked down to when trying to replace the order or had the return policy more clearly explained to us. Will not be coming back due to this experience. I've been to better and more expensive restaurants that return and replace an entree, no questions asked, especially when -you didn't eat it-. I've had $50 steaks taken back without being charged, but you're gonna die on the hill of your watery $15 ramen? No thx. The food, for the most part, is okay. My tonkutsu ramen broth was acceptable, tho my pork was overcooked. My gf's replacement curry ramen was better than the spicy miso, but it was not great. It did have tasty fried chicken, but very few other ingredients besides noodles and spinach. She wasn't so into it. Where the cuisine shines is the sushi. The fish tastes like it's well sourced and is adequately competitive for the price range. We didn't love the ramen experience, but we were actually considering coming back just for the sushi before we saw that they'd charged us for the returned food. The shrimp shumai appetizer was tasty but a little skimpy on the portions, four tiny dumplings for $8 or $9. Ultimately, Sakana is worth going to if you just want sushi and don't mind a somewhat cramped and loud atmosphere during peak hours and a snooty attitude from the staff. I'd have added more stars if not for the service experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Nigiri"
