"The fried chicken was just okay—it needed a good dose of ketchup and was cold inside, which suggested it was just reheated. I ordered the macaroni and cheese, which was fine, while my companion had the Bo-Bacon dish. The bacon bits were really tasty, and the bratwurst was exceptionally tender with great flavor. The coleslaw was also quite good. However, the baked potato had been served with the toppings all mixed together, and the cookies and cornbread were so dry that no amount of butter could salvage them. On a positive note, the loaded hash balls were fantastic—deep-fried potatoes with cheese, and we really enjoyed those. Overall, while there were a few highlights, we left feeling unimpressed."

Wish they had more veggie meal options. The veggie platter was nice though that let's you choose 4 regular sides. Nice attentive staff. Maria was great.

Always a fun place to stop with great budget conscious food prices. Hash brown casserole and fried apples are the best! Cool store with unique finds and souvenirs.

My maple glazed chicken was good but my side of Mac and cheese was literally a table spoon. My husband got chicken and dumplings we had to drain them because the bowl was full of water it was gross. View menu

On a recent trip we stopped at Cracker Barrel in Boise. Jackson was our host and he gave us the table we really wanted. Tammy was a great server! Definitely enjoyed our time there with wonderful food and service!

We've gone to Boise for a family reunion twice and both times we've eaten at Cracker Barrel and I LOVE it! The portion size is fantastic for the price! You can do a little bit of shopping before or after you eat in their little gift shop that has some really neat things! They have such a broad variety of things to buy and there is something for EVERYONE. The food is so so good. We had a party of 16 and every single person enjoyed their food and experience. First time ever being in a Cracker Barrel and it was an absolute delight. From the comfort and style to the food and service it was hands down phenomenal. The French toast was perfect and the fried steak perfectly seasoned and cooked well. But the greatest part for me is finding old time candy that I haven't seen since I was a kid. The feeling of nostalgia and being in good company is definitely a highlight of my trip here to Boise. Can't wait to go again and hopefully I can find this same experience at the ones in the DMV.

Direct quotes from my 9-year-old regarding the cheesecake pancakes: the best decision I've ever made, that's what God eats for breakfast, so delicious. He was also very impressed by the fried chicken I got with my breakfast. I enjoyed my mocha and I was glad to see that they had Mumosa options. The eggs were perfect over medium, and the white breakfast engraving was better than I expected. Cons: Sons of Steak was a little about what he ordered, and the hashbrown casserole was understated. We all had a good time, came here because it was an hour on cookies and horns.
