I enjoy dining at Hu Tieu Dai Da Lat because they serve two large prawns, and they used to include a crab claw as well (now they offer three prawns instead). Their Mi Vit Tiem is also excellent. The broth is flavorful, packed with fresh herbs and vegetables. It's a great spot to visit when you want a break from cooking at home.

The food is decent, but I won't be returning. I've ordered takeout about seven times, and each time they got my order wrong. While I was waiting, I checked my receipt and was shocked to see they charge $1.50 for each to-go box and a $2.75 fee for using a credit card. On top of that, I've consistently left tips of 18 to 20%. I've learned my lesson: always check the receipt. View menu

We dined in and also ordered some three-item plates to go. The service and food here are excellent—definitely a five-star experience for the wait staff and chefs. However, I have an issue with their takeout policy: they charge extra for to-go cups on all pickup orders. This led me to deduct two stars from my rating—one for the fee and another for the rude response I received from the cashier when I asked about it.

Been going here for many years for its well known special seafood clear noodle soup! It's tucked in a quiet San Jose neighborhood right by SJSU. They used to have the crab claw in the dish but now they substituted with another jumbo shrimp. The pho is still very solid and it's the only dish I usually order whenever I'm here. I believe the pho was around $16. Which is not your cheapest pho place but at least there's lots of ingredients. Service was prompt. We ordered and it came out within 10 minutes, super quick!

Da Lat has been around since I went to San Jose State. That was a long time ago. There are better hu tieu restaurants in SJ. Da Lat will suffice if you don't want to drive. We had the hu tieu dac biet, (around $15) and a combo crispy noodles $16. The hu tieu was OK. The soup weren't all that. It needed more bone in the broth. The combo crispy noodles was rough. It looked good but didn't taste great. First, the noodles were overcooked giving it a stale crunch. Too rough. The gravy was too watery. The toppings were a mishmash of meats, seafood and vegetables. We didn't regret coming here but if we drove a bit further, dinner would have been better. View menu
