"I am not from Michigan and was not familiar with the area. My dad and I were thrilled to discover this restaurant on the side of the highway that wasn’t a typical fast food chain. The woman who took our order was incredibly kind and helpful, and kids outside at the picnic tables were chatting with us about the community. Apart from a few kids on bikes, we were the only ones there in a car. While we were still eating our food, a man very rudely asked if our black car (a rental) belonged to us. When we confirmed, he bluntly told us to move our car immediately and not take up three parking spots. However, the parking lot was completely empty at 3:00pm on a Thursday, and there were no designated parking spots marked. We apologized for not realizing, but he continued to be aggressive about moving the car, even though we were sitting right next to it. I'm not sure what his issue was, but he displayed poor customer service and didn't care if we could finish our meal in the empty lot before moving our car. Unfortunately, this encounter marred what had otherwise been an enjoyable experience, including celebrating my dad's 67th birthday with a banana malt. I advise against spending money at this establishment, as you may be treated poorly by the owner who lacks proper hospitality skills. It's a shame that such delicious food is overshadowed by the problematic behavior of the owner."

I visited Dee's Place Ice Cream and tried their Guernsey Farm chocolate ice cream. Despite it being a busy Friday on 8/21/21, I was pleasantly surprised that they had plenty of ice cream available and did not have to wait long to be served. The atmosphere was bustling with many people enjoying various activities on the weekend.

During the summer, my family and I regularly eat at Dee's and enjoy their ice while docked our boat at a local marina on Whitmore Lake. The food and frozen treats are fantastic. I especially love the ice, which is delicious and deserves 5 stars. The staff is excellent - providing great service that is both friendly and polite. We are always greeted with a warm smile. The employees are typically high school and college students who do a great job.

Dee's is a seasonal restaurant that is only open during the summer. They offer a variety of food options as well as ice cream. One of my favorite dishes is the walking taco, which consists of taco meat added to a bag of Doritos or Fritos with traditional taco toppings. When it comes to ice cream, I enjoy the strawberry shortcake treat without whipped cream. They are generous with their portions, so I usually ask for no whipped cream to avoid overflowing. I also like their watermelon slush. Dee's consistently introduces new items each year and is dedicated to enhancing their business.
