"My husband and I pass through Hallettsville about once a week, and we usually stop here to grab takeout. We’ve tried several items from their menu, and they’ve all been quite good. However, my favorite has to be the fried okra and the chicken-fried steak served on a bun. I ordered the chicken-fried steak for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised to find it was a genuine roasted piece of chicken steak on the bread, not a frozen patty. It was a sizable, perfectly roasted piece of meat served on a bun with pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. Next time, I’ll remember to add some mayonnaise since it was a bit dry, but overall, it was still delicious! One of these days, we’ll dine in and enjoy a meal at the table."

Diane's Diner made chicken fried steak like your mom. Not beaten into a piece of paper, nor has it more bread than steak. The best cfs in 3 circles or more and the sides are as big as the steak.

We eat here and/or visit each time we come through...or camping at Splashway waterpark. The food tastes great and we never leave hungry. My grandchildren always look forward to it. Take time to enjoy a dessert as well. :

Oh my, the fried catfish I had was the most delicious I've enjoyed in a long time! The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. I absolutely love the folks at this hometown diner they've opened in Hallettsville! We will definitely be coming back regularly!
