"Starting to think Old Town Alexandria is a food mecca. I really haven't been disappointed in anything I've had around here. And the record remains. Don Taco was delicious. Our server was on point and clearly explained the tacos are only about 2 to 3 bites in size, which is mostly accurate. Tried several different types of tacos, Guac, Jalapeño Margarito, and Tres Leches. All of it was super on point. As others have noted, there's a 90 minute limit to hanging around, and since the notice is posted everywhere, I assume they would. I left of my own accord around that mark with no suggestion to do so. Definitely recommend!"

I loved my tacos and $8 margs! It was just what I needed. The churro bites weren’t my favorite, but it didn’t take away from the experience one bit.

Hip, unique, Mexican food. Good music and cool decor. Customer service was great too. Food was light but filling. Wish the tacos were a little bigger for the price. View menu

I have been super excited to dine here it didn’t disappoint. I started off with guacamole which was missing some zing of flavour. I then tried the shrimp chicken taco they just hit the spot for me. I will definitely be back for more. View menu

all Taco selections were great! you can't go wrong. the queen was a bit salty, but the guacamole was super fresh! the service was fast and pleasant to check with several servers frequently on us. remember that there is a 90min-estate, but we haven't even rushed.

The tacos were good, carne asada was the best The street corn was excellent. The only part of the experience I didn’t like was the queso, unfortunately. It tasted starchy, like it was nacho cheese. Don’t let that distract you from coming here through, it was quite good otherwise!

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."

"My friends and I went to Cheesetique for restaurant week. We sat outside. The space was great, the weather was great. Upon arrival, it took a server about 15 minutes to come to our table, and that was only after a friend went inside to ask for someone to service us. The server who had served our friends, who had arrived 10 minutes prior, was bartending. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The drinks came out relatively soon after. The food took a normal amount of time to come out of the kitchen. We got the watermelon, quinoa salad and truffle balls as apps. There was no dressing with the salad, just spinach leaves, watermelon, and quinoa. It was very basic. The truffle balls, although good, were balls of cheese. They gave huge cheese balls but only 3 tiny pieces of bread. We ordered a Mac and cheese for the table which was not salted very well at all. For the main course, we ordered gnocchi, pot pie, and braised beef. The beef and mashed potatoes were the best. The pot poe and gnocchi were not nearly salted enough. All the food came out 'warm ' at best. Dessert was fine. Overall, not at all worth the amount we paid for restaurant week. We were left disappointed. The service was slow. I do understand they might have been short staffed, but even waitresses who were not our servers looked as us, after being there for 15 min and walked past. We asked someone to get us water, which was never brought to us, so overall, disappointed in our dining experience, considering how much we paid."
