"What a very pleasant experience. Gary and Elaine were very engaging, funny and couldn’t be more enjoyable and the food....WOW! As a small, local healthy alternative type cafe/deli, I would give them a solid 10 stars. The food is fresh, mostly prepared to order, beautiful and delicious all delivered with a smile and good humor. I ordered #10 Indo Crunch Wrap(Vegan) which included tofu and peanut sauce served with Vegan Slaw (very delicious), also, Vegetarian Minestrone....excellent! I’m so impressed with my entire experience, including having lunch with a dear friend, that I/we will definitely be back! Parking is a bit difficult. I highly recommend giving Joy’s Place a go!!"

We drove from Kaanapali all the way to Kihei just to try this place, since the photos of their food looked really good. Amazing customer service, really helpful cashier/ front person. The food tastes delicious and the presentation is nice too! 1000% recommended

Host was the one of the nicest person we met in Maui. This place had some amazing Vegan and vegetarian options. We tried their Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Veggie Burger. Both were very delicious. The Veggie burger was something very unique which I have not seen anywhere else

I decided to visit this restaurant because it wasn't crowded, and I’m glad I did—it was a fantastic choice. The breakfast bagel sandwiches are outstanding—delicious and large enough for my wife and me to share one. The service is quick and friendly, too. They’ve recently moved to a larger location nearby and seem to be changing their name, but you can find them right next to South Maui Bicycles. View menu

The food here is fantastic and healthy! The portion sizes are perfect—not too much and just enough to feel satisfied. The service was exceptional; the host was friendly and made sure to check on us several times. There was plenty of seating available, and the location is very convenient, being within walking distance of other bars and small shops. Our meals came out quickly, taking less than 10 minutes, and it wasn’t overly crowded when we arrived between 11 AM and noon.

A cute little cafe right by the beach. People who own this are really sweet. We ordered Indo crunch collared wrap, live nut burger, vegan burrito, acai bowl and 3 berry muffins. Everything was delicious. The menu is really unique and we were so happy that we wanted to go back the nest day for breakfast but sadly it was closed for Christmas. After our first 3 berry muffin when we went to get another one for the road, the lady was really sweet to give the second one on the house. Would definitely recommend this place!

"The food was good but the service and ambiance were not. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and the last night of our vacation. Eater recommended Ka’ana as “different” from other hotel restaurants and that it offered a “fine dining”experience. Unfortunately, I would not describe what we experienced as a fine dining experience. Our hostess congratulated us on our anniversary and lead us to our seats. We were seated on the balcony, which would be great except it looked directly at two large TVs playing sports games. Not romantic at all. The TVs were part of the beach bar cabana, which was oddly built directly in front of the dining room, blocking most of the view. Providing diners of Ka’ana a view of whatever is playing on TV instead of an ocean view. It was very distracting. I felt like I was eating dinner being forced to watch football. A poor design decision that led to a poor dining experience. Our waiter was also very distracted. He spoke quickly, disappeared for long stretches, we didn’t feel like we mattered at all. They seemed under staffed. Maybe due to the fire. In any case, I wish they would have limited reservations instead of stretching their staff. The dining room was LOUD. There was live music happening at the beach bar right next to the dining room (classic resort/cruise ship singer, doing their own twists of popular hits. , while the restaurant itself had a different soundtrack (Hawaiian music, more mellow . Two soundtracks competed with each other. Along with the loud dining noise, It was sensory overload. We were barely able to hear each other. Which is why maybe the waiter was barking at us. The food came fast and was good. We had the watermelon salad, waygu, mushroom risotto and veggie tacos. We shared family style. To be honest, we could have just ordered three. We were so stuffed. Wine prices were outrageous so we skipped. We are from the Bay Area so we can wait to drink better wine in Napa. Overall, the price for the food based on inventiveness, quality, and preparation was reasonable. We just can’t recommend it for special occasions. We couldn’t wait to finish our meal and get out of there."
