"this place is the worst! I've been a couple times for trivia and I've learned my fiction never to go back. not only is eating incredible dland with very few options that can be made vegan, but the service is terrible! Every time we're gone, we were completely ignored by the moment we set ourselves. they need to fly the waitress to get a service. then, the half of the time they do not bring them dinge they ask (like serviettes, seasoned, etc. despite the several ask. also for trivia they win a gift card for the first place, but their gift card reader is currently broken, has been for a because, it seems, and they told us they didn't know when it would be repaired. but every week they still give prizes for gift cards, you can never use them. that seems pretty sketchy to me."

Slow service. Server was super awesome. Food was below average in taste. Drinks were alright. Most likely won't be back.

I like the vintage atmosphere and edgy vibe this place. dia de los muertos meets elvis the king is the thema. it could be a little vegan/ vegan on the menu, but it works. we're coming back. View menu

I came here with a couple of friends on a not so busy Sunday. Service was slow. We didn’t have a lot of people in the restaurant. We sat ourselves on the table 15 minutes went by no waiter/waitress to greet us with menus. We were starting to think maybe they’re closing and ready to leave. But then we were given menus. We ordered and it took almost an hour to get our food. The drink I ordered had a hair on it. I thought this place would be good. But it’s terrible, not worth returning View menu

Came to el Rey in Camarillo to watch some football on a Sunday. The service was SLOW !! Waited for our food for almost an hour just to get some burnt taquitos! Literally just ordered appetizers! They comped us our drinks and the taquitos which was appreciated, however it even took loong just to get a drink. I would have even appreciated if the waitress just acknowledged how long our food was taking , but no she barely even checked on us !! I would definitely recommend the Ventura location!!

1st time there. We got take out. Ordered the cheese enchiladas plate and the veggie plate. This is typical bar food. Not very good but people likely go there for alcohol and the atmosphere. So, after a few drinks the food taste is not important. Friendly and polite service. This review is solely based on the food. It was not very good. I've had better food from my old high school cafeteria. The enchiladas were bland. The red sauce was like cheap tomato sauce out of a can. The refried beans were watery. The veggies were inedible. The rice was ok. Won't be back.

"Was visiting Camarillo area with the family to visit friends, and we decided to eat here since the reviews mentioned a conveyor belt for sushi, and having been stationed in Japan, we missed those types of sushi places where you can pick plates off the conveyor belt and pay for the plates you pick. Unfortunately, the conveyor belt is shut down as a COVID precaution, which is understandable but still disappointing, so we ordered sushi rolls which were really good.I enjoyed the cherry roll and honeymoon roll, while my wife had the shrimp tempura roll and an order of baked green mussels. The food we ordered was outstanding. My daughter played it safe with the California roll, which she thoroughly enjoyed with gyoza as an appetizer. The kids' menu selections were very limited with only two choices, a chicken teriyaki bento plate or beef beef teriyaki bento plate which also comes with miso soup. If your kids really enjoy teriyaki which my middle son does, then the amount of food for the price $9.99 is a great deal...the bento has tempura shrimp and vegetables and a single gyoza, rice, and the aforementioned soup. My youngest son, however, made due with the grilled salmon bowl. He is usually a big fan of grilled salmon marinated in mirin, which is what most Japanese restaurants serve, but the grilled salmon here didn't hit the spot for him. The grilled salmon bowl was the only miss in all the dishes we had.Hopefully next time we visit the conveyor belt is back in action. As a regular sushi restaurant, the sushi is good and are the highlight as they should be. The fish to rice ratio was just right and definitely satisfies that sushi craving if you're in the area.Kid-friendliness: Very limited kids' menu selection, consisting of a chicken teriyaki or beef teriyaki bento meal. However, the value for the amount of food for the kids'meal if they like teriyaki is really good. Servers were friendly towards children."

"Located right off the 101 freeway, upscale barbecue restaurant Wood Ranch has consistently served up Camarillo's best food for years. Speaking as a native Southern foodie--who grew up 100 miles from New Orleans and who has lived in Texas, South Carolina and close to Memphis--I'd rank their ribs, pulled pork, etc. right up there with the best. Not to mention an enticing array of sides, such as tangy peanut cole slaw, fluffy baked potatoes always freshly cooked, and The Very Best sweet potato fries around. Lunch specials include fun foods like beef and pork sliders, and their creative salads and chicken tortilla soup are great for lighter appetites. No matter what you choose, don't say no to their signature garlic rolls! Their wine selection is excellent, offering a carefully curated selection of California's best wine values. On Tuesdays they place all wines on 30% discount, and they now offer 10% off glasses of all their wines during weekday happy hour from 3-6! There are three seating areas: indoor booths with subdued lighting, bar with booths and bistro tables, and a double-decker semi-enclosed heated patio (our favorite . But don't be fooled by the burgers and bbq, this is a fine dining restaurant with excellent service offered in a casual atmosphere--the best of all worlds. Dietary restrictions: For medical reasons, my diet is not just gluten-free but grain-free. This is my go-to local restaurant because of the variety of options I have. (Of course, if you are a sensitive celiac, you need to be careful."
