"I’ve gone to El Tapatio several times. It’s been our go to Mexican place and it’s as good as you would expect for a small town Mexican place. After our last visit, however, I may pick a different place in Preston. The gal that took our order switched when she gave us our plates (my husband’s order went to me and vice versa). Absolutely no problem we switched and ate our meal. When she came back, she asked why we didn’t like our meal, thinking we had switched plates for that reason even though we ate what we originally ordered. Cue our awkward laughter as we didn’t want to point out the mixup. I also asked for a side of limes and she asked in a disgusted voice why I wanted a side of limes with THAT (my meal). She also took away our half full basket of chips in the middle of our meal. It was just an odd encounter in all. Chips aren’t refillable (for free) and that has also been disappointing where it’s the norm for other restaurants like this. My favorite Mexican place in town! It's been a while since I've been, so I don't know how accurate this is, I need to go back again. The food is amazing. Atmosphere is a two because booths are broken and uncomfortable. Glad that they fixed the hole in the ceiling.
