Faka's Island Grill

I absolutely adore this place! Their unique take on Hawaiian cuisine is incredible and definitely my favorite.

I Doordashed an order of the honey katsu. Overall not very impressed with it. First off 16$ for what I got was very disappointing. Very small portions compared to every other hawwian place i have been and just overall okay flavor. Mayb it's better in person but still very small

What a find! Stumbled in here by accident. Ordered the pig mac , which is a pork belly grilled cheese on a Hawaiian roll topped with macaroni salad. The f 'n pig mac! Side of spam masubi, and honorable mention to the birria place next door. Delicious! Great combination of flavors, cooked perfectly by a super friendly guy behind the counter. Highly recommended!

The katsu I tried was exceptionally delicious, boasting the perfect level of crunch. The team was incredibly helpful; they offered a fantastic recommendation when I was uncertain about what to order. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, from the LED lights at the counter to the vividly colored walls. Wow! Wow! Wow!! Hands down the BEST HAWAIIAN food in the OC! Actually in California for sure! Absolutely nothing compares. They give you portions that you for sure will not go away hungry (compared to other places here in the OC)! My fiance is Hawaiian from Maui. He got The Hungry and just talking about him makes his mouth water. It was like being back home for him. I got the two shrimp dishes (you can pick half half). This place is a MUST go to spot! We will be back soon!

I discovered this restaurant on Yelp, and it seemed quite promising. I was pleasantly surprised to find it nestled in a small food hall. From the moment we arrived, the service was welcoming and attentive. We decided to try a couple of their recommendations along with some of their signature dishes. What really impressed us was how distinct the flavors were; this was not your usual Hawaiian plate lunch. The quality of the food was much better than the typical cheap takeout you often find. I will say that the prices are somewhat higher than what you’d find at most Hawaiian places, but if you're willing to invest in quality over quantity, this place is worth it. We definitely plan to return.

I've been here twice now with my boyfriend because we really like this place and he's been here once before too. You'll find it inside one of those markets with multiple food vendors and we haven't tried the others there because if we go we really only want to eat this.The service is pretty good, the workers are laid back and friendly and don't rush you at all. It's nothing special but they're nice workers.The food is what makes this place stand out: the pork belly is nice and juicy but also crispy when you first bite into it, pairing well with the furikake rice.
