"The coffee was sour and the place is really dirty. After getting a sour drip coffee, I asked for an americano instead. They obliged, though not happily. Most of the tables had old food debris on them and the floor has a gritty texture due to all the dirt. There are also bits of food on the ground and several wet used napkins and other small pieces of trash. The bathroom is also super dirty- like the toilet isn 't gross, but the floors are in dire need of sweeping. It would be incredibly easy to clean this place if they cared to. Update: I left a 2 star review while in the cafe and hung out for a while. Then I went to the counter to order another americano. The woman actually denied me service because she said, they received a bad review. I guess they check their reviews pretty frequently! Anyway, their behavior shows they deserve the bad review. This is probably the worst cafe experience I 've ever had, and definitely the worst customer service. Because of their immature response to the 100% accurate review about the sour coffee and dirty establishment, I have lowered the rating to 1 star."

We stopped for a quick bite on our way home to WV and we’re so glad we did. All around a great place. The salad was delicious and so fresh and the iced tea was perfect! The service was wonderful! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited this restaurant with a fairly large family group, and we had a wonderful time. Everyone enjoyed their food selections, and the coffees were delightful. The dishes were very flavorful, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a spacious, stylish, and appealing venue in the heart of Canaan, CT. The menu is somewhat limited, featuring wraps, sandwiches, coffee, and other beverages. It's a nice spot for breakfast, a light lunch, or just a coffee break. View menu

My next request was for gluten-free options, as there was almost nothing I could eat on the menu—and I asked politely! Their response? "No, we can’t do that; our supplier is out." I pointed out that many other restaurants somehow manage to offer gluten-free bread. I can’t help but think that if a more helpful person had been serving us, I would have left the café with great things to say. As it stands, I don’t plan on returning.

Our bike club visited this café, and we experienced significant delays in receiving our orders. The staff offered excuses instead of addressing the poor service. One member of our group never received their meal and ended up leaving without eating. The café wasn't very busy, and when this member requested a refund, they couldn't even handle that properly and were unsure whether the payment was made in cash or by credit card. It was both ridiculous and disappointing. Food rating: 1.

"I was traveling through town and wanted some breakfast so I stopped by. There are rules handwritten on paper all over the doors and was very confusing to understand. I was curious what they were so I took my time to read it all but I was rushed inside by the lady working there. It seems like this place is stuck in hardcore COVID restrictions although zi wasn't forced to wear a mask (if I was, I would have walked out anyways). While the place is clean, it is worn down and uncomfortable. I didn't want to sit at the counter but I was forced to wasn't going to argue. The menu was challenging to read. There was a combination of print and handwritten notes which I couldn't read because the menu was printed and laminated 30 years ago and is scratched to hell. I couldn't decipher what to order so I just asked for eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon. It did come with coffee. The lady that serves is also the cook so that was an interesting touch. The food came promptly but was an extremely small portion. The toast was burned so that wasn't enjoyable. The potatoes were the best part. The portion was so small I actually ordered a second portion to fulfill my hunger. Then the bill came. How the hell was this $29? I couldn't understand the menu and I didn't have the desire to argue it so I left cash and walked out. At $29, that means each meal was $14.50. How the hell are two eggs, two slices of toast, 4oz of potatoes and two strips of bacon $14.50?!I recommend everyone please read the other reviews they are accurate. I didn't have as an unpleasant experience as others but I opted to be very open minded and relaxed because I was hungry. This place is obviously run by an insanely LIBERAL person and I was afraid to say anything in fear of getting kicked out of the only diner in town, that I saw. I won't be back. There is a reason it is always empty."
