"Fish 101 is fantastic! As someone from the East Coast, I found this restaurant to be just what I was looking for while visiting the Pacific coast—delicious seafood in a laid-back surf town. The Baja fish tacos were spot on, and the fried fish was equally delightful. Both the tomato coconut soup and clam chowder were outstanding. The restaurant features beautiful photographs of local fishermen, adding to the charm. They also have some great Fish 101 merchandise for sale. If you're in the area, I highly recommend paying a visit. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and the local area."

We had the NOT fried fish tacos. Not as tasty as the Taco Shack in LaJolla but still clean food. Not a quiet place with white tablecloths but it satisfied our need. Beer is $8.Food: 4/5

First time in here. My wife had the Mahi plate which was VERY good (so juicy! with rice and salad. I had the salmon tacos which were amazing. Great staff, great service. Reasonable prices.

Yes a little on the pricey side but very good! I got the grilled mahi bowl with brown rice and added avocado for extra. Very tasty! My husband had shrimp tacos and no complaints. Got a few beers with it and sat outside. View menu

Got the poke bowl. Figured it would be enough food. It was tiny! A thin slice of avocado, less than a sixth of a medium avocado. Three thin slices of cucumber. Shrinkflation hit this place hard. Food tastes good but can’t justify the amount for the price.

Stopped to get the fish and chips and they were really delicious and reasonably priced. Also had a Poke bowl with Salmon, also delicious. Also some great beer!! The staff couldn't be nicer. Fortunately we got there before the crowd! The fish is fresh and delicious!!

We started with the clam chowder and tomato coconut soup. Both were delish. Followed that up with fish tacos (3 per order) and the seafood curry with brown rice. Corn tortillas and slaw boosted the flavor profile of the tacos. Fish, shrimp, carrots and kale swam in a luscious coconut curry with just the right amount of spices. Prices are reasonable. I like Fish 101, it's just a bit overpriced, in my opinion. It's $14 for a bowl of rice, black beans, and a couple small pieces of fish like mahi mahi. And they try to upsell you on adding avocado. It's delicious, no lie, I just feel like restaurants are contributing to the inflation issue by overcharging. There's no reason a small bowl of fish, rice, and beans should be over $15 with tax, plus tip, but people keep paying it, and so I suppose nothing's going to change.

This casual, family-style restaurant focuses on Mexican-inspired dishes, along with a variety of seafood options. The food is incredibly fresh; we enjoyed some outstanding grilled shrimp during our visit. You can pick up a menu and place your order at the counter, and they will bring your food to your table. The large windows provide a lovely view to the west and north, overlooking the ocean, right in downtown Cardiff. While the ambiance is not fancy, we've consistently enjoyed great meals here. They also offer a wonderful selection of locally designed t-shirts and other items.
