"The potato pancake came with a cup of applesauce and was also just okay. It was thicker on one side and unevenly crispy, lacking any garnish that might have made it more visually appealing. The dining area felt cluttered, with supplies piled high along the ceiling, which seemed to reflect the new owner's ongoing effort to get settled. The unisex bathroom was located down a messy hallway past two doors. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and had varying degrees of Hungarian accents, which added a nice touch of authenticity to the experience. However, the restaurant appeared too new and unprepared, as if they were still in a very soft opening phase. I'm eager to visit again when they're fully operational—I’m hopeful for some delicious paprikash!"

I visited the deli for the first time and was disappointed with our sandwiches. I ordered the corned beef on rye, while my wife chose a Reuben. When our sandwiches arrived, mine looked okay, but the meat was quite tough. My wife's sandwich appeared to have been microwaved, making it almost impossible to eat. When the staff came to check on us, we shared our concerns and mentioned the problems with our food, but the waitress just smiled and walked away.

They served a basket of homemade bread, which was quite good, but it came straight from the fridge and didn’t include any butter. To make matters worse, we weren't informed about the charge for the bread until we received the bill, and we hadn’t even asked for it in the first place. The meat pierogis were the only decent dish, while the mushroom pierogi was too doughy, indicating it might have been undercooked. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning or recommending this restaurant.

Without a doubt, these are the best pierogi I've ever had, and I've been enjoying them in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn's "Little Odessa," for 50 years. An order includes six delicious dumplings for around $5. The food is exceptional, the prices are reasonable, and the husband-and-wife team running the restaurant are truly warm and inviting. She usually welcomes customers at the front, while he often handles the cooking in the kitchen. I believe they have Hungarian roots, but they offer a diverse range of Eastern European dishes.
