"We stopped in Gambaretti's for a late lunch in Albany. There weren't many places open on Sunday and this was one of them that was. We arrived around 4:00. We ordered cocktails to start, a grapefruit martini and a lemoncello lemon drop. Both were good. We had antipasto of marinara garlic bread to start and it was good. My husband ordered the fish of the day which was the catfish breaded and fried and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was really good but he was not a fan of the catfish, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. I had the insalata caprese and it was very good. When we got here it was not very full but it's been filling up a lot since we sat down. The downtown needs more activity.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible."

We went during happy hour. Their happy hour menu was amazing, super reasonably priced, and our waitress was very attentive. Would go out of our way to go again.

Very busy restaurant! We were warned about them being behind on there food orders! Been here before so we waited for our meal and in the mean time had bread and drinks! The food was outstanding as usual! This place is a fantastic place to eat! Never been disappointed!!! View menu

The wait time was a bit longer than expected, but our server was exceptionally friendly and apologized multiple times for the delay. The food was outstanding; it featured the freshest Caesar salad I've ever tasted, and the Alfredo was divine. I highly recommend this place if you're a fan of Italian cuisine.

Went with group of eleven folks. Nine appeared to have decent meals. I had the skimpiest sausage/pepper soup. My pizza came when everyone else was finished and we’re boxing up food. In fact my pizza arrived in a take home box. I felt sorry for the poor server. He was embarrassed by the situation. I might return, but it will be sometime.

For a dinner with family, Gamberetti’s was the perfect choice. The interior is rustic, yet refined. The atmosphere is casual, but classy. All of the staff seemed so welcoming and friendly, and patient as I took my time to peruse the menu. The descriptions of the choices we were served were spot on. •FYI: Best Bread Pudding ever• You can dine alfresco as well, at the bistro tables in front of the building. What a pleasant dining experience for this out of town visitor. ? View menu

My husband and I are big fans of Gamberetti's. The Beet and Avocado dish is consistently excellent, and the pastas are usually tasty as well. However, in the past year, I've noticed that the kitchen tends to go overboard with cracked black pepper in the pastas, to a level that's quite off-putting. I'm not sure why they feel the need to add so much pepper to every dish—it certainly isn’t how it’s prepared in Italy. Despite this, I'll keep visiting Gamberetti's; I just plan to request no black pepper in my meals.

The food was excellent, but we had a noisy table next to us upstairs with children running around. The restaurant wasn't busy; only two booths and two tables were occupied. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We had to help ourselves several times, even going across the room to find a pitcher of water to refill our glasses twice. We asked for breadsticks, and while our server acknowledged the request, they never came back with them. Our group was a quiet party of eight. I recommend that small children not be seated upstairs, as there's no barrier to prevent them from falling down the stairs. On the bright side, the food was truly fabulous!

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."
