"My family loves this place. The service is always exceptional, even when they're busy as all get out. Our most recent trip I ordered on the light side and was still hungry, so I asked if I could get just one biscuit with gravy. The server said absolutely, went and put in the order, and came out with one in less than 2 minutes! It can get a little loud and the wait can be a little long on the weekends when they're busy, but it's completely worth the wait! I would 100% recommend coming here rather than the other over-priced, understaffed, and mediocre breakfast franchises."

Amazing service and amazing food. Large portions and cooked perfectly! The server was wonderful! She was friendly and provided great service. Coffee and water was always filled. She made the dining experience even better. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this local gem!

Have been there 10s of times but the last time I believe they had changed their foods because it was for sure not like the times before. I will still go there but I was honestly disappointed the last time I went there. The portions of foods were smaller and the presentation and the taste was different. View menu

I have not been there in a long time. It is a very original style breakfast Cafe. I had eggs with sausage six was supposed to be like kielbasa bit it tasted like a hot dog. Disappointing. I let my friend taste it also he thought the same thing. Also they do not Have GF bread and don't offer a substitute. Server were very nice and very attentive. I probably will not go back as I was not impressed but they have a lot of loyal customers.

I ate here in 2001, when I first moved to the Gateway area, looking forward to old school diner fare. Disappointed, I didn't go back again until today when I thought I would try the busy locally owned breakfast spot rather than the struggling Shari's. The hash browns were cooked in rancid oil and now, in addition to paying the full amount for unsafe food, I am paying the literally gut wrenching price. I mentioned it to the server and she offered me more? So, never again and reporting to the health department.

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
