This place is fantastic! The Mexican food is very authentic. The salsa is amazing, and they'll bring you extra if you ask for it. The prices for the dishes are reasonable too. It appears to be a family-owned establishment. View menu

They make this amazing dessert. Its like cheesecake filling wrapped in a tortilla shell and then they deep fry it top it with some vanilla ice cream (or strawberry) then some chocolate syrup I think a little cinnamon with a cherry on top ? it was soooo good. Totally recommend.

The plates are quite small, and I’m unsure about the types of meat used in the tacos and beef enchiladas. Overall, I was really disappointed with the food. It used to be much better! However, the frozen mango margaritas are fantastic, and the staff are very nice. It’s a family-run restaurant, which is a plus.

I'm from the city of New York and the Bronx is one of the best places to get real Mexican food. Hole in the wall places where hard Mexican workers go to dine or snack.We decided to try Grandma's Mexican restaurant and placed an order to go. Yes the place is clean and yes the staff is friendly, Yet this is the worse Mexican food ever! We got the steak and chicken dinner. Everything was very bland, tasteless.The corn tortillas were wet. The salsa tasted old with no flavor, so to sum it up, we recreated the whole meal on our stove. View menu

Grandma's is the best Mexican/hispanic food we have found in New York! Moving here from Texas was a huge food shock for us and we tried every place around town looking for good Mexican food and finally found it! After going to Grandmas we'll never go anywhere else. Everything is made fresh and to order, the Salsa is good and the service is great! Do yourself a favor and order a tamale even if you get something else as your meal- they are SO GOOD. Can't say enough good things about this place or the owner- he is always there, happy and hard working!

My boyfriend and I had to wait over an hour to be served our food. As we were nearing the hour, I asked the server when we would be getting our food. He said it should take a minute but it ended up taking longer than 10 minutes from the time he said that. We got the dinner combination, which was disappointing. The food tasted as if it were microwaved frozen food and it was not hot when it arrived. The quesadilla with cheese barely had anything in it. The bean gravy that was served with the rice tasted horrible. The enchiladas were really salty. I saw the reviews before coming and had high expectations from what I read, but after this experience we’ll never be coming here again.

Food is usually good here, but I think I caught an off night, and an off menu item. I ordered chicken tacos, that come with rice and beans, and pico de Gallo. First off, the refried beans were thin, watery, cold, AND I ended up sending them back to the kitchen because they had an off, sour taste, (like a spoiled food taste) The pico de Gallo also looked like it had gone past it 's expiration date And lastly, the tacos contained only the chicken, (no other fillings) I 've had tacos in many different places, and at the very least, in addition to the meat, there 's always shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, maybe some guacamole and sauce. But just the meat alone? Never seen that... View menu
