"I used to really like Hamdogs. I admit it's kinda gross to think the cooks are smoking while preparing your food, but it never seemed to hurt me. It's a bar and grill with tasty food, decent portions and great prices. Overall it's about what you would expect. What killed it for me is when they went to the BBQ menu in the evenings. The prices are crazy! I was willing to put up with the smoke, dirty bathrooms and sticky tables when 10 bucks got me a beer and dinner, but now the evening menu has entrees approaching 30 bucks. Sorry guys, Hamdogs used to be a favorite of mine, but since I always went in the evenings your off my list for good."

I AGREE WITH THE LAST POST. HAMDOGS IS NASTY , DIRTY.I ALSO WORKED THERE FOR AWHILE . THE COOKS DO SMOKE IN THE KITCHEN, THE RESTROOMS ARE JUST HORRIBLE .

Footnote: I had my party at Hamdogs on November 20, 2009. It was fabulous! The restaurant staff perfectly decorated the tables and cared for my 55 guests who visited them. Everyone enjoyed their steak, shrimp, pork chops, ribbed and salmon. We all had a great time. Thank you. Hamdogs!

I hosted my party at Hamdogs on November 20, 2009, and it was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant staff did an incredible job decorating the tables and taking care of my 55 guests. Everyone raved about their meals—steak, shrimp, pork chops, ribs, and salmon—everything was delicious. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you, Hamdogs! View menu

DO NOT EAT HERE! I worked there for six months. I always kept my bar clean, but the rest of the facility is filthy, especially the kitchen and the bathrooms. They break the Nevada statute regarding the clean-air act and smoke in the restaurant regardless of the fact that they serve food. The cooks CHAIN SMOKE IN THE KITCHEN while cooking!

I've never seen the chefs smoking in the kitchen, so I can't speak to that. The place itself may not be beautiful, but it doesn't need to be. My friends and I visit every month and always have a great time. I’m even hosting a dinner party for 50-60 people there in November! (I plan to bring my own wine; what they offer is fine, but I'm looking forward to introducing my friends to Hamdog's food. It's not an everyday spot, but it’s definitely a treat. Thanks for listening!

"Under new ownership: Woodett 's Diner offers a special weekend only French bistro. The new owners are a married couple, one is French, and the other is Greek, and they met in France. 22 years ago they came to the United States and brought a glorious assortment of tasty flavors with them. You can still get breakfast and lunch throughout the week, including some classics carried over from the previous owner i.e.: biscuits and gravy), but as an additional perk, you can also get a very high quality meal on the weekend, with a rotating menu every 4 weeks. Keep your eye on this establishment, it will probably emerge as one of the highest quality restaurants in Gardnerville, NV. My table ordered a filet mignon in peppercorn sauce $29, most expensive item on the menu), a filet of chicken I 'm told it was a little dry, even though swimming in butter), baked salmon I 'm told it was also noticably swimming in butter, but not sure that 's a problem), salmon tartar a starter, very good), a goat cheese salad fresh and excellent), and three desserts each was excellent, and very saucy). Flavored bread rolls were served at the table with butter upon arrival. My overall impression is that this chef, Ramon, knows what he 's doing. The food was prepared with expert precision, and simple but clean presentation. I 'm told he 'd like to move away from short order diner cook and get back to his real passion, chef of a French bistro. I additionally ordered a glass of Cabernet, which though I did not know the label, it was quite good. I 'd be interested in finding out what it was, and I 'm secretly hoping it was something quite affordable. A friend of mine once told me, the best wine in the world is the one you like. My advice: continue to minimize the diner feel, replace the cool white bulbs in the chandeliers with warm colors, and continue to go for the high quality market share. There 's plenty of diners in town, but I want to transcend time and space, escape, and find myself in the movie Ratatouille. I miss sitting at a nice comfortable restaurant, and watching the people go by in the streets a classic French bistro pastime. Let me know if you need some French music. Old review previous owner): Diner cuisine. Diner coffee. Diner service. Diner prices. Comfortable booths. Parking lot feels a little tight in an SUV, but there 's ample parking all around. Successful visit."
