"Great local deli w/ nice sandwich offerings and all the little things you could ever hope to find in a neighborhood deli. After a 5 mile hike and being so dehydrated, I saw the sign at the end of a strip mall and pulled a sudden turn just to make it back... and I'm so glad that I did! Not only did they have various types of real iced teas with that super thirst quenching powah, their large menu board of sandwiches got my full attention and suddenly made me hungry. :P Young lady with an easygoing attitude told me I could just customize sandwich however I want, so I had her built me a NY reuben but tweak a thing or two, and my wife got a crab cake sandwich. She had forgotten to put the Russian dressing so I went back and she put it in a small container. Reuben, while a bit greasy as to be expected, was excellent and flavorful. Crab cake on the other hand? Well, at the price point I should've known it wasn't a real crab cake but like some variation of imitation crab meat and some other filler that just wasn't too tasty though not terrible either. It was just forgetful. They had couple fridges of beer and spirits in the back and did really have a nice variety of drinks, so I was ogling them (I was very thirsty) for a while and just feeling happy about all the choices I had. (I only got 1 peach iced tea). Enough about drinks though, this place was one of those delis that just had their bases covered. I think I saw pre packaged salads in plastic containers, a jug of cold brew on counter, different hot teas, coffees, maps, and other convenience store items... just a really awesome deli. I wish there's this kind of neighborhood deli near my place! 1 star off for mediocre crab cake sand, but I'd gladly stop by again for an after hike quench munch!"

The BOBO in the morning is a game changer! This is the best deli in Sloatsburg. It feels like every time I get a sandwich from here, it gets better and better!

Family owned local spot that makes everyone feel welcome. Best breakfast sandwiches around and their lunch menu is second to none. It's a must on your way through Sloatsburg

The obos are the best breakfast sandwiches in the world. Crispy hashbrown, egg, meat, cheese on top of a fresh and well layered kaiser. Friends and I visit sloatsburg from philly to eat breakfast at Haywards and maybe do some hiking on the side. View menu

Nice deli we found after a day of hiking in Harriman State Park. Nice selection of sandwiches! I had the pulled pork/cole slaw/BBQ in a wrap #6 which was amazing! Nice selection of beverages. Friendly service, family owned. We will definitely go back on our next hike.

Every time I visit this restaurant, I’m struck by how genuinely the staff cares about their customers' experiences. The place is spotless, the service is both friendly and professional, and the quality of their sandwiches is outstanding! Plus, their prices are very reasonable for today’s standards. I got three delicious breakfast sandwiches for under $10! Hats off to this family-run business for doing everything right!

I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Meghan Haffey, a forex trader, and I can confidently say she is exceptional! I highly recommend partnering with her. With just a starting capital of $1,000, I have seen weekly returns ranging from $15,000 to $25,000. She truly stands out as the best in the trading industry. Invest with Ms. Meghan and thank me later. You can reach her at: Email: [hidden email], WhatsApp: +14432644420. View menu

After we left the store, the man at the counter made a disrespectful remark, suggesting that we should use an outhouse in the fields. My dad, who is white, was understandably upset, especially since my mom and I have darker skin and don’t appear white. He confronted the man, who then dismissed us, saying we weren't going to buy anything anyway and making a derogatory comment about "those people." My dad decided we would not support this deli. It’s surprising to see so many reviews claiming the staff is welcoming, as this clearly isn’t a place that welcomes everyone.

Growing up on Long Island, I was brought up with an old fashoned delicatessen in every shopping center, two or three in every Town. These days, good old fashioned deli 's that are not bagel stores or another husiness with a deli counter are hard to find. Not in Sloatsburg. Haywards is a throwback to an earlier time where in the morning you can quickly get a good cup of coffee and egg sandwich and in the afternoon a great sandwich, potato or macaroni salad, chips and a drink. Hayward 's is not a cheap eat but the value and quality are worth every penny. A true gem. Hikers, Stop in and grab a trail map and lunch to eat on the trail during your hike, you wont regret it. "If you’re going for the sushi, I recommend you don’t bother. Worst sushi I’ve had by far. Barely anything in each roll despite what the descriptions make it sound like. I’ve never been so disappointed in sushi before. And I went on a slow Monday night, so it wasn’t because the kitchen was busy. And the miso soup was the smallest portion ever, barely filled the bowl halfway. Spent a lot of money here on appetizers and sushi and really disappointed, wish I went anywhere else. I wasted my money coming here for sushi. And I was celebrating a special occasion so it was even worse. I just can’t get over how little was actually in their sushi, and for regular sushi prices as if there was a good amount of fish inside. So mean of this restaurant. It’s also bad service. Not attentive at all. Had to ask the front desk for the check because the wait staff was no where to be found ever again after bringing us the food. The female who does the hibachi here with the deep voice is not funny or nice and was obnoxious and rude. She was also mean to a little kid, asking a 5 year old girl if she wanted a tiny toy chicken, handing it to her, then a few moments later telling just kidding and snatching it back up, cackling. She’s extremely way too loud too. The guys at the other tables were much better, funny, and nice. Also what in the world is up with the rated r statue that greets everyone at their front door? Literally saw a mom have her young kids pose with it for a pic not noticing the giant, fully erect. If you want a Mountain View in their lounge with a drink, great. The food and staff, I don’t recommend, especially not the sushi. The sushi wouldn’t even be worth it if the prices were cut in half. They’re not true sushi rolls with typical sized fish fillings inside. Not fair of this place. I’ve never complained about sushi from any restaurant before this. I wasn’t forced to do valet parking on the slow Monday night but the previous time I went, I was forced to do valet parking. I had no idea they had mandatory valet parking and am so against that. They need to add that to their website, it doesn’t state that anywhere. The valet guys are very rude too. And they knocked the cup holder off my door and didn’t put it back on! Also removed the cover from my seat. They weren’t careful at all driving my vehicle and didn’t treat it with respect. I don’t appreciate being forced into valet parking, Mt. Fuji."

"**Location:** The restaurant is situated in Sloatsburg, with free parking available on-site. You'll be greeted by charming bears at the entrance. It seems to be a house that has been converted into a restaurant, and the interior is spacious with ample seating. It's clean and family-friendly, featuring a bar and live music. **Service:** We were warmly welcomed by a lovely grandma who was incredibly nice and accommodating. Our server was also delightful and offered excellent recommendations. **Food:** The food here is outstanding! - **Grilled Montreal Ribeye:** This was incredibly tasty, and you can tell it’s not mass-produced like in other restaurants. It pairs perfectly with the mashed potatoes. - **Half Rack Ribs:** Another favorite! The meat just falls off the bone. - **Shrimp Artichoke:** The shrimp are huge, and the sauce is creamy and delicious. - **Caesar Salad:** The best salad I've ever had! The dressing is fresh and has a lovely egg aroma. - **Open Faced Reuben:** My brother-in-law thought it was just okay, but it was a massive sandwich! - **Cheese Pizza:** My nephew loved it and devoured half of it. - **Cod Salad:** A limited option, but my father adored it and said it was perfectly seasoned. **Rating:** I’d give it a 7/10. The prices are reasonable for such delicious food. I’ll definitely return when I'm in Sloatsburg—it's very family-oriented and the service is great! Make sure to try the Ribeye and Shrimp Artichoke!"
