"On 8/10/2022- I visited the HOOK &REEL CAJUN SEAFOOD AND BAR at 3887 West Hillsboro Blvd. In Deerfield Beach. I always drove by these franchises on University Drive in Florida but one day I decided to stop by to see what the big hype was. I ordered to go the Clam Chowder soup which was OMG!!!! Excellent and so was the friendly staff. I looked at the menu, I waited less than 10 minutes and I was served immediately. I made it back to work in less than 1 hour. I did also try the Cajun chicken wings all flats and they were also DELICIOUS. It was flavorful, not spice at all and you wanted more after the first chicken wing. That or I must have been hungry. Overall, I really enjoyed their soup. A must try. MARIAE"

My family and I enjoyed some Combo Boils last night, and they were fantastic. The seafood was fresh, cooked to perfection, and seasoned just right. It can get a bit messy, but it's definitely worth it.

Hook Reel is a fun, good ole Cajun seafood boil. Bring the family, put on the gloves and dig in to some really good food. The seafood boils are the best and the Hook Reel sauce is their own creation and very good. View menu

The place was clean. Service from our server was good and very attentive. I forgot his name but he was a young gentleman wearing glasses. We had the special set and the king crab legs. The sauce was so delicious i couldnt stop lickin my fingers!!!

Sooooo good. Menu is great and reasonably priced for what you get. They have a great bar with some delicious cocktails too. The place is decorated so it's cute and really makes for a cool experience. These crab places have been popping up all over lately and this is definitely one of the best. We will be going back.

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere nice staff and very good seafood. The prices are reasonable because this restaurant has less waste because they sell seafood that was previously frozen But the seafood is fresh and really cooked very nicely. Went there first time Sunday Evening, The parking lot was empty that was a little scary but I thought maybe it's just Sunday night. Service was very slow at first even though they were only three or four customers in the entire restaurant. Overall the food was bland, lacking flavor. The sausage was kielbasa , some of the potatoes were not cooked through, the corn had no flavor at all, the potatoes not much flavor. They were spicy sauces OK I guess. The mussels were ok. The crab was ok, the lobster tail was chewy. The hard boiled eggs had green oaks , Look it up that means they were cooked too hard and too long.Don't think I'll be going back there.

They took over the Ruby Tuesday location that we liked, did a beautiful build out inside, minor changes outside. Great selection of crab boils and fried seafood. I ordered fried oysters and they were good. Others in our party really enjoyed the crab legs. Overall great seafood at the price point, which is surprisingly reasonable these days. Service was a bit slow considering few customers and a little background music or something would add a little energy until the place starts drawing bigger crowds. One drawback is the limited non seafood options in case someone in the party is not a seafood fan. A few more chicken and beef options would be nice.
