"Howie's is your typical neighborhood bar. It's definitely got a dive feel to it. The beer and food prices are super cheap and they even do a happy hour, so the cheap just gets cheaper. Keep an eye out for the daily food specials. I highly recommend the pickle pizza or the bacon pizza, the crust is fluffy and the pizzas are the perfect size to share. If you're looking for light snacks, try their onion rings. You'll get a massive portion and probably won't be able to eat them all. If you aren't a trivia buff, I would recommend avoiding Tuesday nights. Howie's trivia starts at 6:30 and usually runs for 2 hours. It can get very competitive and depending on the week, the place will be packed with extra folding tables set up in the walkways. The main reason to come to Howie's is for Howie himself. He's a lovely man who genuinely cares about his customers and his employees. He's not afraid to cuss people out during trivia night but underneath that gruff exterior is a marshmallow. The only downside to Howie's is the parking. It just doesn't really exist. You can park on the side street off of Veranda or go all the way to the end of the side street and park in a dirt lot. If Howie's is bumping, the parking spaces are at a premium."

I love the place. It's my place, but honestly, the Chill Vibe is fantastic and the food and drink are both good. I hesitate to check because I don't want to go over it. You still deserve kisses. It's a great local pub and barbecue.

Awesome bar with a mix of domestic and craft beers, $5 wings on sundays, half price pizza on Monday, trivia on Tuesday. Bartender was super friendly and very on top of serving us drinks even with us sitting at a table, will definitely go back. View menu

Don't hesitate to check out this restaurant; it's one of Portland's hidden gems. It has a charming neighborhood vibe and a lovely staff. The recent renovations have polished the space while still maintaining its laid-back atmosphere. Plus, there’s a fantastic back terrace that’s perfect for summer and any future pandemic we might face. Keep up the great work, everyone!

This is our favorite bar in Portland. It's a fantastic gathering spot for locals and doesn't feel touristy at all. The pub food is excellent, and the bartender Kelly is even more impressive! We've been coming here since the original owner, Howie, ran the place, and the new owners have really refreshed it with their recent renovations. It's a cozy space, but there's ample seating between the bar and high tables. I'm so glad they made it through the pandemic!
