"Went to HuHot Mongolian Grill on Olive Blvd. last night for dinner. I have their rewards card (and a free grill meal coupon from the rewards), so I decided to revisit after a long break. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall west of 270 on the north side of Olive (due west of the huge AMC theatre complex). Inside it is set up like an old Ponderosa with a hostess stand and areas of the room bracketed off by low walls. After seated with a menu, a server came around shortly to take my drink and appetizer order, to find out if I wanted hot and sour soup or a salad with my dinner buffet, and to see if I would like white or brown rice. My complete order consisted of a grill meal (you can pick what you want as you go through two buffet style coolers of meats, vegetables, noodles, etc. plus sauces then take your meal to the grill to be cooked in front of you), the hot and sour soup (comes as part of your grill meal purchase of a dinner grill meal), and a half order of the egg rolls. Overall, I liked the hot and sour soup and the egg rolls (though not the sauce). Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the grill meal itself. I had piled a lot into my bowl for the stir fry and had even chosen spicy sauces. It was filling, but significantly missed the mark on the tasty meal with a kick that I had hoped for... Service was really good and I think I would give it another try down the road, but I am in no hurry! It is important to note that this is an unlimited grill meal sort of place, so it could be a really good deal for those with big appetites."

On a positive note, I have a gluten allergy and the worker who helped me was super friendly and helpful. The rest of the experience was ho hum. Food was so so, cooks looked unhappy, disgruntled stomach following, My dish was supposed to be hot and wasn't at all. Ridiculously small bowls to fill -You need at least 3 (which is not easy to maneuver) to make a small plate of food in the end. Pricey and wouldn't go back.

Here you choose like what you want to have in your bowl ,put everything from variety of options add some great sauces from available options and and few more extra taste makers : , pass to chef they can grill it for you on huge grill, this grill is common for all,so you have have someone else's food is being grilled next to your. Over all ok experience. I choose to go with veg options,so got many veggies with brown rice. you can choose noodle also if you want. Its unlimited so you can do as many time and combinations as you want. View menu

I absolutely love the Asian salad with the dressing served on the side, and it’s typically ready for me when I return to the table with a fresh plate of Mongolian stir fry! If you have any allergies, they are really accommodating and will prepare your food separately from other orders. Unfortunately, I can't have pineapple, but I feel reassured knowing there's no risk of cross-contamination during cooking. I can imagine this setup is great for vegans and vegetarians too! Plus, you can go back for seconds or even thirds if you still have room!

We were in the area and craving Asian cuisine, so we decided to try the Mongolian flash fry style at HuHot. Having eaten this type of food at other places, we approached this experience with a point of comparison. Overall, we would rate it as average. The all-you-can-eat stir fry allows you to create your own dishes with various food and seasoning options for around $12.50 per person. However, we were disappointed that shrimp wasn't offered as a meat option. The staff was generally efficient, but not particularly friendly. Given our experience, we’re not likely to return.

We returned to Hu Hot despite my 2023 review saying we wouldn’t. What were we thinking? The four of us were nearby today, so we decided to give it another shot. The place was crowded, but unfortunately, it was filled with a lot of young children who had little or no parental supervision. This really doesn’t work in a restaurant like this, in my opinion. Overall, the restaurant was messy, especially the sauce bar, and the bathrooms were in poor condition as well. The only bright spot was the table attendant, who did a good job. The price for the somewhat limited all-you-can-eat raw buffet has now risen to $17.99 per person. I can say with certainty that we will not be returning. View menu

After 2.5 years, HuHot is open again in Creve Coeur! They opened a few weeks ago. Not mobbed yet, but business appears to be picking up! So, many things are the same here. You go up and select uncooked items you want in your dish (like noodles, protein, veggies, etc) and then pour over a combination of available sauces. They cook your food while you watch, and then you go back to your table and eat! Rice is provided at your table, and you get an Asian salad, or a garden salad or egg drop soup. What is different? Well, no eggs, unfortunately. I thought the Asian salad was actually better than I remembered it. Overall, this is a fun experience and very good for families. Very good!

I had eaten at a HuHot before but I prefer another chain (Genghis Grill). Here the differences were very apparent. This was all you care to eat and you help your own starch in the bowl (meaning there is little room for other things like meat or veggies). There is very little choice of protein beyond the basic beef, chicken, pork, seafood. The sauces were watered down and there was no way to taste them before adding them. You put the sauce in he bowl with the other stuff and when they dump everything on the grill to cook it, most of the sauce boils away before it really can become a part of the meal. There are no spices like garlic pepper, ginger, cayenne pepper, etc. You wait in line while t...
