"I placed a takeout order today, and the woman who took my call was quite rude and impatient. I mentioned to her, “You seem really impatient with me,” and thankfully she calmed down a bit. It had been a while since my last visit, and I’m not sure what has changed, but the food didn’t match our previous experiences. We ordered fried fish, shrimp, and shrimp fried rice. Unfortunately, the rice just came drenched in soy sauce with raw chopped onions mixed in, and there were only about six shrimp—definitely not what I’d call “fried” rice. It also lacked much flavor. I'm not a fan of raw onions, so I was really disappointed to have to pick them out of the rice, and I ended up biting into some while eating. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. Additionally, the fish filets were cut so thin that you could almost see through them, and they were overcooked. On a positive note, the shrimp were cooked well and had a decent taste. However, we won’t be returning."

I wish I could give 5s, but the rudeness from the restaurants worker was very mean.. I had made a call in order, and I was disappointed with her attitude.

I drove across town specifically to order from this restaurant, only to find out that they were closed when the sign clearly states they close at 9:30 PM. I arrived at 8:47 PM. View menu

The restaurant is great and has a lovely atmosphere after their recent upgrades. My favorite item on the menu has to be their sweet tea—it's absolutely amazing! Plus, you have the option to choose your own fish to have fried, which is a nice touch.

My order was not correct, the catfish was burned, I ordered small Porgy and received Medium, I asked for extra crisp and received that which I will have to refry to enjoy. This is not customer service. I drove 8 miles. Please be mindful of listening to customers!Thank you!! View menu

I urge my fellow Black community members not to spend our money at this establishment. I called to place an order and kindly requested that they wash the fish twice. The response I received was that they wouldn't do it and essentially told me to not order if I cared. It's disappointing, and I will not be returning.

The young woman who answers the phone is quite rude and disrespectful. It's important to remember that the Black community supports your business and contributes to your profits. Your discourteous behavior could lead to negative word-of-mouth in the community, which could harm your business. It only takes one person to speak out!

"Hands down the best food I've had in Augusta. In Augusta for work, and have been trying out various restaurants with the work crew. This place I is the first that had me saying I'm coming back. EVERYTHING was good! Seating is limited and there was a short (10min) then from there it's either buffet style or takeout option. We dined in, which gave me a chance to sample EVERYTHING. I started with the salmon in lemon sauce. Not overcooked and just delicious. This was my favorite. Seconds were had. Next up was the fried pork loin. Probably my least favorite protein but still good. I'm not much of a pork person and still enjoyed. Then the barbeque chicken. This..was..good. seasoned to the bone. For sides, there was some corn and lima beans and plain rice. After this, we had the beef gumbo. The gumbo truth be told was more a soup. For me gumbo needs to be a little thicker...heartier. Whatever you want to call it delicious. The beef was seasoned well, tender and the broth flavoured with okras. There was also a salad bar, and I just had a fresh salad. Typical salad toppings with some.black olives and jalapenos to spice it up a little. Not sure about the dressing, I did without. Then everything was topped off with the peach cobbler. I enjoyed this as well, probably because it was not overly sweet. But I know people are passionate about their cobbler, so opinions will very. All in all, I'm definitely going back and look forward to different daily dishes. We were told when leaving tomorrow (Friday) is fried chicken day."
