"Went to Hege's last evening to celebrate a birthday. We had stopped to look at the menu many times on trips to Freshfields and finally decided to give it a try. We reserved a table on the patio and brought our dog with us (pets are allowed on the patio). The menu is extensive and I had trouble deciding on what to eat. The french onion soup was hot and delicious. I followed that with the mussels which were savory but I had so many that I ended up bringing some home for lunch. My husband had the lump crab stuffed shrimp appetizer and Mahi both specials of the evening and said they were excellent. The staff were experienced and pleasant although their was only 1 waiter for all the outside tables (slowed things a little). The warm bread they serve is excellent and I was disappointed to find out that it's baked in house and I couldn't buy a loaf. We left stuffed we'll definitely be back."

"My wife wanted to order a chimichanga but wanted to omit a few ingredients. However, our server informed us, "I’m sorry, but these are pre-made and frozen." We were quite surprised by this information. Given that they were frozen, we decided to choose two tacos and an enchilada each instead. I went with a buffalo chicken taco and a Peruvian shrimp taco, along with a chicken enchilada. The buffalo chicken taco featured two spicy chicken nuggets coated in wing sauce, served on a soft tortilla with a little lettuce on top. I couldn’t help but chuckle; the chicken nuggets tasted like they had been reheated from frozen. The same could be said for the enchilada. My wife's selections—the chicken taco and traditional beef taco—also appeared to be reheated from frozen. Our total bill for four tacos and two enchiladas, along with a basket of chips, salsa, and queso came to $57, including tip. We only had water to drink, which added to our disappointment. Although the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, something felt off, and the food certainly did not live up to our expectations. We visited at 6 PM on a Friday, and there were only about three or four other couples dining. If you’re staying on Kiawah or Seabrook, I recommend saving your money and simply picking up some frozen entrees and a bag of tortilla chips from Harris Teeter instead."

"We had a large takeout order on a Friday evening. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My family members enjoyed their food-many of us ordered the combination platter of grilled mahi mahi with grilled shrimp. We ordered mahi bites for the toddlers (they loved their “chicken” ! When we returned home, we realized one meal was missing and immediately called and spoke with Josh who apologized and assured me he would make it right. He went out of his way to help us. We highly recommend Fischer’s for its delicious food and quality people working there!"

"Wow this place is worth the drive! A friend bragged to me about how good it was so I decided to make the trek out there. Before leaving I asked what the must haves were. She responded everything! The server had an amazing sense of humor and made all the tables laugh. We ordered the crispy rib appetizer and honestly I'd make that my meal next time and add a couple sides. Absolutely delicious! The flavor is very strong so I would recommend that you eat it after your meal. I ordered the smoked chicken sandwich and it had good flavor and the bread was extremely fresh! Unfortunately I did not have room for the ice cream (check out their toppings menu... It's fantastic! . We will definitely be back and have already told our friends about it!"

"Decent restaurant but beware of the additional 3.5% service charge when paying by card. They do note it at the bottom of the receipt but it should be made crystal clear up front that the menu prices are the cash price only. Kind of shady especially for Kiawah where they have zero problems filling restaurants to capacity. Would be smarter to give a discount for cash than tack on a service charge for cards. Other than that the food and service were pretty good except that my medium steak was extremely well done and one of my guests well done steak was medium rare...they obviously got the steaks mixed up."
