"Ordered jerk Clinton beef patty and baked mac and cheese. Order came it was completely wrong. I received oxtail, rice and some vegetables that to be honest they were unrecognizable. I called they said the driver went home and I would have to bring it back, so I got in the car myself and headed to the store because it was only five minutes away. So I get there and they closed without waiting for me to exchange the order. So I end up not getting my food after driving to a rough part of town only to find they locked up on me. So I get back and decided to try the oxtail. It was terrible. Looked and tasted like they ran out of all seasoning in the entire restaurant. Couldn’t even take a third bite. I move on to the rice flavorless is not a strong enough adjective it would be almost a compliment to what that rice tasted like it will haunt me for the rest of my life. Veggies didn’t look good enough to try, even though I ordered a Arizona they also put a frozen solid lemonade in the bag which was just as heavy as the full plate of food I threw out never again."

Really loved the texture and taste of the Sorrel cake, it was the best cake I've had in a longtime. Job well done ? View menu

This is by far the best Jamaican food I've had in New Jersey. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but I still highly recommend it. Food: 5/5

I ordered the j chicken, Mac and cheese, and peas and rice. 10/10 chefs kiss. Amazing food! Probably the best chicken I’ve had in town. ??

The oxtails had good flavor, but they were mostly made up of bone and fat. If you think it’s acceptable to serve customers a beef patty that is this old and unappetizing, it makes me question the quality of everything else on your menu. I won’t be returning. View menu

My wife (Jamaican) had the oxtail, rice and peas, mac and cheese, and cabbage. She gave her meal a solid 7 out of 10. I (US) had the j chicken and mac and cheese. I gave my meal a solid 8 out of 10. Here’s the bad part. We bought a beef patty and it was obvious it had sat all day. I can only give it a 3 out of 10. I must say out of many different Jamaican restaurants we’ve been to, and outside of being in Jamaica, this has to be the most authentic food out there. We will return. ?

Last night we ordered a take-out from Jamaican Empire (located in East Trenton, between North Clinton and North Olden avenues) and we are happy to report that the food was good. The oxtail stew offered in medium and large sizes, and there is a wide variety of choices (two choices per order), from fried plantains and mac cheese to white rice, rice and peas, or steamed vegetables). The most popular side usually served with oxtail, steamed cabbage, is served by Jamaican Empire as steamed veggies, with addition of corn and carrots. The prices are cheaper that at most of the competitors (large portion is sold for $20 through GrubHub vs $27 or $29 offered by other Jamaican restaurants in the area)...

"The restaurant features modern decor adorned with paintings of scenes from Spain, while the tables are beautifully dressed with linen. The discreet lighting casts a warm glow throughout the dining area, which was bustling even on a Wednesday night. The meal was exceptional, as we opted for a variety of dishes among our group of six. Our appetizers included stuffed clams, empanadas, scallops, and a platter of Spanish sausages with shrimp and mushrooms, all perfect for sharing. For my entrée, I chose the chef's special: boiled scallops in a lemon cream sauce served alongside bacon-wrapped filet mignon medallions in a mushroom sauce. The unexpected inclusion of sausage with the fillets added a unique twist to the flavor. The combination of the different sauces in our entrees was a delightful surprise for the palate. Other standout dishes included the paella marinara and two veal preparations—one in mushroom sauce and the other in lemon. We rounded off our meal with flan, crème caramel, sorbets, and a wonderfully creamy cappuccino. We were even treated to their signature after-dinner drink, a type of Amaretto liqueur. The service was impeccable; the friendly and attentive staff ensured all our needs were met, recognizing that we were there for a relaxed meal together. My only minor complaint would be their hesitation to serve water; we had to ask twice at the beginning and twice more for refills. However, we had no trouble getting additional bottles of wine, so this was only a small inconvenience. Although Malaga is a bit pricey, it is undoubtedly worth the visit."
